With the Royal Rumble arriving right around the corner, only one WWE Superstar stands out as someone who should win the 30-man match: Kofi Kingston.

Okay, scratch that. Maybe two men stand out, considering that I previously wrote about why Roman Reigns should win the next Royal Rumble. Of course, we are unlikely to get a Rumble ’94 type of finish with two WWE Superstars standing tall as the co-winners of the match

However, in the case that The Big Dog does not get the big win, I am here to argue why Kofi Kingston should win it all.

He still needs revenge on Brock Lesnar

Call it revenge. Call it redemption. Whatever you call it, Kofi Kingston needs a second shot at The Beast, if only to provide fans with a bit of closure. Many of the complaints regarding Kofi Kingston losing the WWE Championship (other than the obvious) were mostly in regards that the way the loss was handled felt unresolved and anticlimactic on all cylinders.

No reaction from Kofi in regards to how he felt about losing the belt. No anxious chase on his part to even want to get back into the singles main event picture. He just lost in eight seconds and that was that. Rightfully, fans wanted more and, in many ways, fans deserved more.

It’s easy to believe that the ship for Kofi to get his redemption from Brock Lesnar has sailed given that the two are on separate brands now, but thankfully, the Royal Rumble is an easy loop hole around that.

Let’s not forget that the winner can main event Mania for any World Championship on any brand they so choose. Kofi could easily win and set his sights on Lesnar on Raw, much like how Asuka hopped from Raw to SmackDown to challenge Charlotte Flair after she won the Rumble a couple years back.

Truth be told, Kofi doesn’t even have to beat Lesnar. Sure, it’d be incredibly disappointing to many fans for Kofi to not pull an upset, but just giving Kofi another crack at Lesnar (one that’s longer than eight seconds, preferably) and giving fans that closure they desperately want is already a step up from what we’ve gotten these last three months.
