For every Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels and Randy Orton, there are countless WWE Superstars who stand out in history for all the wrong reasons …

Stone Cold Steve Austin. Shawn Michaels. Kane. These are the names we recall when we think of the WWE Royal Rumble match, each one engraved within the pantheon of Rumble legends. This Sunday, Jan. 26 at Minute Maid Park in Houston, TX, 30 men and 30 women will be looking to write themselves into the history books.

The 2020 Royal Rumble marks the 33rd occasion of the event, including the third edition of the Women’s Royal Rumble. With former winners Asuka and Becky Lynch already involved in their own match for Lynch’s WWE Raw Women’s Championship, it is likely a first-time winner will be crowned. In both this , and the men’s match, there is the opportunity for new legends to be born.

But not every Superstar can be so fortunate.

For every Ric Flair and Randy Orton, there are countless Superstars who were unable to outlast the other 29 competitors – and among these, there are those who stand out in history for all the wrong reasons. Whether they made a poor decision, or lasted less time than it took to get to the ring, they also make up a rather less-stellar club of their own.

Here are five Superstars who entered the Royal Rumble with hopes of valour, victory and glory – only to be treated to a most humiliating exit.
