Charlotte Flair, as WWE likes to say, was built for success. And she went full queen at the 2020 Royal Rumble, winning the match after eliminating Shayna Baszler in the final two.

Pretty much everyone expected Shayna Baszler to win WWE Royal Rumble 2020. She came into the match as the odds-on favorite despite being in NXT, as fans fully expected a dream singles match at WrestleMania 36 for the Raw Women’s Championship between Baszler and Becky Lynch.

And i seemed like Baszler was on that path. She entered the Royal Rumble in the coveted No. 30 spot – though maybe that was the first tip-off that she wouldn’t, in fact, be winning – and immediately proceeded to clean house.

Naomi, Beth Phoenix, Toni Storm, Xia Li, Zelina Vega, Shotzi Blackheart, Carmella, and Tegan Nox were on the list of stars Baszler eliminated, as she quickly tied Bianca Belair’s record of eight eliminations.

But she couldn’t eliminate Charlotte Flair.

The Queen won the 2020 Women’s Royal Rumble one year after her best friend Becky Lynch, whom she tagged with in the main event of TLC last month, did so. Becky and Charlotte faced Ronda Rousey in the main event of WrestleMania last year, and, now, Charlotte has won the Rumble to main event in 2020.

She cut a sharp promo on the fans, going “Full Queen” in yet another promo. Some fans wonder if she’s a heel or a face, but the reality is that she is “herself” as a character. Charlotte is among the wrestlers Paul Heyman wants to push hard in 2020 as the new leader of Raw, and it’s easy to see why, given her accomplishments in WWE.

Next. Bianca Belair had a stellar Rumble performance. dark

Many fans will find it odd that Charlotte won, especially since familiar foe Becky is the Raw Women’s Champion. But since Lynch has to defend the title against Asuka and a lot can change between now and WrestleMania, consider me intrigued for what’s next.
