Brock Lesnar started the 2020 Royal Rumble on an unprecedented run of dominance, but then Drew McIntyre showed up.

There’s no doubt that Brock Lesnar is the most hated man in WWE in kayfabe, and fans only began to despise him even more when he eliminated the first 11 men who entered the 2020 Royal Rumble.

We should have seen it coming, right? Lesnar eliminates everyone in his path, furthering the notion that he is the most dominant man in WWE history. And then the person who can stand toe to toe with him – or just temporarily hold him off – would get a big pop.

That’s the formula WWE followed here…or so it seemed.

Lesnar comically dominated the first 11 men in the Royal Rumble match. He eliminated the first four wrestlers in mere seconds. Kofi Kingston had a nice flurry of offense and worked well with Big E and Rey Mysterio, as the three hit their finishers to briefly stumble Lesnar.

But then Lesnar dumped them all out of the ring.

He took care of Cesaro, his buddy Shelton Benjamin, Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura, and a returning MVP. And again, he did so without breaking much of a sweat.

Then Keith Lee showed up.

The NXT superstar who had a huge moment at Survivor Series shocked Lesnar, whose mouth was open and eyes startled when the North American champion took the fight to him.

When Braun Strowman’s music hit, it seemed like Lesnar would finally meet his match.

However, neither Lee nor Strowman could work together. They were both victimized and conquered by The Beast to become eliminations No. 12 and 13.

Enter Drew McIntyre.

Well, first, enter Ricochet. The One and Only avenged the low blow Lesnar hit him with on Monday Night Raw last week, hitting Lesnar with a low blow to create an opening for Drew McIntyre.

And McIntyre, who has been on the rise over the past month due to his mic work, picked up one of the biggest eliminations in Royal Rumble history. He took out Lesnar after The Beast eliminated 13 straight men, dominating veterans and big men alike.

How did he take out Lesnar? A Claymore straight over the top rope. Beautiful. And each time he eliminated a superstar, he could only stare straight at an incensed, defeated Lesnar outside the ring.

This was a massive moment for McIntyre, who is a wrestler Paul Heyman himself has put more of an emphasis on pushing.

dark. Next. Who won the Royal Rumble?

And now, it looks like he could have a WrestleMania 36 match against the WWE Champion Lesnar.

McIntyre truly is “The Chosen One”. He has been waiting years to face Lesnar, and it looks like he may get his wish. And even if he doesn’t, he’s already a made man after this insane elimination to end Lesnar’s comical dominance.
