WWE Rumors: The three men Paul Heyman is pushing the most
Paul Heyman has been making his imprint on Monday Night Raw since taking charge of the show, and here are three male wrestlers he’s reportedly pushing the hardest.
Drew McIntyre has become a major part of WWE Raw over the past several weeks, and his rise culminated in a breathtaking Royal Rumble victory, which included the eliminations of Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns. Paul Heyman reportedly wants McIntyre to main event WrestleMania 36 against his client Brock Lesnar.
But McIntyre is just one of a few wrestlers Heyman has been giving an additional focus to over the past couple of weeks. The Women’s Rumble winner, Charlotte Flair, is another wrestler Heyman has made a focal part of Raw’s programming.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, via WrestlingNews.Co’s Paul Davis, there are three male wrestlers who are at the “forefront” of the people he’s trying to push.
Those wrestlers are United States Champion Andrade, Royal Rumble winner Drew McIntyre, and the undefeated Aleister Black.
All three men have certainly been booked strongly, especially since the start of 2020. Black has defeated Buddy Murphy – another wrestler Heyman likes and has placed in the main event scene in Seth Rollins’ stable – thrice without a single loss in return. He looks like a future world champion.
Andrade, meanwhile, remains the United States Champion despite stiff challenges from Rey Mysterio and another young wrestler Heyman likes in Humberto Carrillo. He won the title at a live event at Madison Square Garden and looks poised to hold the title until WrestleMania 36, bringing much-needed prestige to the championship. Andrade has real top star potential and might have the most potential of those three wrestlers.
But, of course, the story of WrestleMania is all about McIntyre, who has more than “redeemed” himself in his return to WWE. A former NXT Champion, McIntyre has eyes on the WWE Championship.
Meltzer’s list only includes male wrestlers, but if we were bringing up women on Raw, Kairi Sane, Asuka, Charlotte, and the champion Becky Lynch have all been a key part of the show. And hopefully Heyman is able to push more women in 2020.
