A new year for AEW should mean some new additions to its roster. Here are some independent standouts we’d love to see join All Elite Wrestling.

2019 was a tremendously successful debut year for All Elite Wrestling and now, AEW enters its second year in business. Year one offered both financial gains and critical praise for a product that exceeded expectations.

Now, following a hot debut, the promotion has some real expectations on its back heading into 2020. To meet some of those expectations, they may need to add some prominent stars to the roster.

Taking a look at some of best wrestlers on the independent circuit, here is a list of performers that we think AEW should look into trying to sign, starting with a Revolutionary.

Darius Lockhart

Trained by the legendary George South and WWE Superstar Cedric Alexander, Darius Lockhart has been in the midst of a revolution on the indies. Lockhart prides himself on his identity as a black man in America, modeling his in-ring character after historical Civil Rights leaders.

Most of his time spent on the independent circuit has seen The Revolutionary do battle in PWX, where he has battled for the promotion’s Heavyweight Championship and holding its Innovative Television Championship on two occasions.

Cedric Alexander is already one of the best wrestlers on WWE’s roster. As a protege, Lockhart has done a phenomenal job at not duplicating Alexander’s moveset, but using his tutelage to craft some unique offense of his own. In terms of character and in-ring skill, Lockhart would be a fun addition to AEW’s roster.
