AEW: Dynamite’s top three matches of January 2020
With January 2020 officially coming to a close, we thought we’d take a look at some of the best matches AEW had to offer during the first month of the year.
It’s safe to say January has been one of the most turbulent months in recent memory.
It hit the ground running when the world was on the brink of a third World War, a deadly Chinese virus and half of Australia on fire.
When you add the loss of basketball legend Kobe Bryant to the mix, I think we can all agree January felt more like three months than one.
Here’s to February providing us with more exciting products on Wednesday nights – sorry, everyone else – as hump day has officially become Wrestling Night.
As the world was literally imploding before our very eyes, the upstarts at All Elite Wrestling certainly did not let that affect them. AEW’s January was riddled with the intrinsic storylines and quality professional wrestling that we’ve become accustomed to from the Jacksonville outfit.
With their next pay-per-view being held at the end of the month, the AEW brass had tons of world building to do in January and they delivered throughout the five episodes of Dynamite last month.
They had a homecoming in Jacksonville, a tribute to Memphis Wrestling, their version of ‘Bash at the Beach’, and taped an episode on ‘Chris Jericho’s Rock N Wrestling Rager at Sea Part Deux’.
Oh yeah, they also held a show in Cleveland.
With that said, here are our top three Wednesday Night Dynamite matches from the month of January.
