AEW Revolution early card predictions: Time for MJF to shine
AEW Revolution is still three weeks away, yet only one match – Jon Moxley vs. Chris Jericho – has been announced. Let’s fill in the blanks of the card with predictions.
All Elite Wrestling is set to takeover Chicago once again for their first Pay-Per-View of the year: AEW Revolution. I would say that this is a hotly anticipated card, but with the show coming up in three weeks on Feb. 29, there is still not much of a card to speak of.
So far at least, the only match that has officially been announced is Chris Jericho defending his AEW World Championship against Jon Moxley.
In one way, it’d seem as though All Elite Wrestling is cutting it close when it comes to stretching out the card, but nonetheless, they still have three weeks to go and we are expecting to get a handful of new additions to the card before it’s all said and done.
Before all that is said gets said, however, I want to make a few predictions as far as what else could be added to the card judging by recent Dynamite storylines. But first, let’s predict the winner of the card’s only match announced so far:
Chris Jericho (c) vs. Jon Moxley – AEW World Championship
Chris Jericho and Jon Moxley have been feuding with each other ever since the IWGP United States Champion turned down Jericho’s offer to join his Inner Circle. Did I mention that Moxley turned down the offer by slamming a wine bottle in Jericho’s face? Because he totally did.
As the biblical saying goes, “eye for an eye,” Jericho wanted payback in a big way: he pulled out a spike from his jacket and stabbed Moxley in the eye. Which, in some states would be considered aggravated assault and Jericho should be jailed by all accounts. But it’s wrestling, so we allow it.
This didn’t stop a newly eyepatched Mox from claiming a number one contendership for the World Title, guaranteeing him an in-ring confrontation with the champion at the PPV.
It’s also worth mentioning that on the latest Dynamite, Moxley stabbed Santana – one of Jericho’s goons – in the eye with a set of car keys for the sake of having an eye for an eye for an eye. Which, again, acceptable aggravated assault charge.
There’s a chance that Jericho may walk out of the PPV without an eye of his own, but there’s a better chance that he walks out with his title intact.
Winner: Chris Jericho
