AEW: 5 opponents to challenge Nyla Rose for her Women’s Championship

Nyla Rose is the new AEW Women’s Champion. Who could be the first challenger in All Elite Wrestling to step in front of her path? Let’s take some guesses.

This past Wednesday on AEW Dynamite, Riho walked into her 133rd day as the reigning and defending Women’s World Champion. For 133 days, Riho valiantly and successfully was able to take on all challengers ranging from the likes of Britt Baker to Kris Statlander.

It all started when she made history by becoming the inaugural World Champion during the debut episode of Dynamite, defeating Nyla Rose to do so. It feels only fitting for that reign to come to an end at the hands of the same woman.

The match was their first one-on-one rematch since that fateful Dynamite episode and it was Rose’s third ever shot at the title. The third time proved to be the charm as after a fantastic match, The Native Beast became All Elite Wrestling’s second ever Women’s World Champion.

Who could challenge her first?

We’ll talk about a few challengers, but let’s start with – to quote Bea Priestley – “a f***ing dentist.”

5. Britt Baker

When both first entered All Elite Wrestling, it always appeared from the start that Britt Baker and Nyla Rose respectively would be positioned as the company’s top babyface and top heel within the women’s division. Since then, the tables have turned as Baker has gone heel while Rose is slowly building an endearing fanbase.

Right now, Baker has complained and campaigned for a World Title shot, especially when Riho was the champion. Even if it reads as a heel vs. heel storyline, why not give Baker her title shot sooner rather than later?
