AEW: 5 opponents to challenge Nyla Rose for her Women’s Championship

4. Hikaru Shida

Billed as one of the first women to sign with AEW, Hikaru Shida was always billed as one of All Elite Wrestling’s top competitors among the division. Hence why she was in one of the qualifying matches to decide who got to wrestle for the inaugural Women’s World Championship in just her second ever AEW match.

Although she lost that qualifier to Riho at All Out, she’s won a good chunk of her matches on Dynamite since working in the United States full time.

Even now, Shida continues to rack up wins in her appearances bouncing between AEW Dynamite and AEW Dark. All of these wins have helped Hikaru Shida remain as one of the top names among AEW’s ranking system. It would be safe to assume that she remains a top contender lined up to face Nyla Rose at some point down the line.

Prior to winning the belt, Nyla Rose’s last title shot was in a multi-woman match most notable for a spot where The Native Beast slammed Hikaru Shida through a table. The two displayed some fun monster heel vs. fiery babyface type of chemistry that could truly take shape in a one-on-one environment.
