Coming off a universally praised Revolution PPV, was AEW able to continue the momentum with Dynamite? Short answer: undoubtedly. Let’s take a look an action packed show, with Jon Moxley, Chris Jericho, and The Inner Circle providing a bookend to the show (and everything in between).

Revolution was one of the best PPV events in a long time; it may be the best PPV for a US-based promotion in years (depending how you felt about All In and Double or Nothing). After receiving seemingly universal praise, the pressure was on AEW to not only follow-up the event with a good episode of Dynamite, but to continue what has been a string of great shows since the New Year’s edition.

Well, they did just that.

From giving Moxley a live mic to having a squash match(!) to Darby Allin having yet another star making moment, there really wasn’t anything to complain about (unless you’re nitpicking).

If anything, these last 10 weeks of Dynamite have not only been great, but also shows AEW listens to and responds to the praise and criticisms from fans (think about how Dark Order has been repackaged, for instance).

Advertised for the show was Moxley/Allin vs. Jericho/Sammy Guevara in the main event; SCU/Colt Cabana vs. Dark Order in an eight-man tag match; Big Swole vs. Leva Bates; PAC vs. Chuck Taylor; and Jake Hager vs. QT Marshall, plus a surprise or two.

Now, let’s begin with the first “boom” of the night.
