This week’s best of the Wednesday Night War focuses on Jake Roberts’ AEW debut, Jon Moxley’s first promo as World Champ, and Darby Allin.

Another week of the Wednesday Night War is in the record books, so it’s time to once again show some love to three (or more) wrestlers (or whoever) who stood out the most on either All Elite Wrestling (AEW): Dynamite or NXT. But first, let’s give some props to those who didn’t quite make the final three:

Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF): Following his tainted win over Cody at Revolution last Saturday, the young upstart took some time to cut a fantastic promo that was only overshadowed by Jon Moxley and Jake Roberts’ mic work on the show (which we’ll get to). AEW has big plans for Friedman, and this promo provided

“Hangman” Adam Page: Sure, it took a while for Page to enter the ring and help his Elite buddies fend off an Inner Circle post-match attack, but the fans roared when he finally did. That combined with Page flipping off Matt Jackson afterward added another fascinating chapter to a story that likely ends with a Page heel turn.

Big Swole: Swole scored an impressive enhancement win over Leva Bates this week. Her moves looked fluid and her, ahem, big personality shined in her brief outing, so here’s hoping she becomes a fixture at the top of AEW’s distaff division.

Cameron Grimes: Kudos to Grimes for garnering the vociferous heel heat that he did during a segment with NXT North American Champion Keith Lee. Those folks really didn’t like him; it must’ve been because that stupid hat and vest he wears.

NXT Tag Team Division: With Kyle O’Reilly & Bobby Fish and Grizzled Young Veterans chasing The Broserweights for the NXT Tag Team Championships, things are getting interesting in the once barren division.
