5. Darby Allin

Fellow Washingtonian and Seattleite Darby Allin checks a lot of the boxes to be the mystery partner. He has a history with The Elite (remember his matches against Cody?) and an extensive history with the Inner Circle. Apart from his rivalry with Guevara, Allin has had his issues being jumped by Jake Hager and had his own hellacious match with Jericho.

It would also be coherent in story as he faced Jericho and Guevara just last week in a 2-on-1 handicap match after new AEW World Champion Moxley was jumped by Hager, Santana, and Ortiz prior to the match:

Moxley suffered a triple powerbomb (hmm, I wonder where I’ve seen that before?) at the hands of Hager, Santana, and Ortiz, so what better way for Allin to seek revenge and extend the story than being Page’s partner?

Allin has a reason to go after every member of the Inner Circle. We know about his recent issues with Guevara (though Allin’s victory at Revolution seemingly puts that to rest for now), but he has been constantly jumped by the heavies Hager, Santana, and Ortiz. Beyond their match last year, Jericho seemingly always finds himself with Allin skating towards him and/or beating the crap out of Allin.

This would be a great way to extend any story between Allin and Guevara or to rekindle his rivalry with Jericho, depending on the outcome of this potential match.

On a side note, teaming with a tag champ as popular as Page probably would serve to bolster Allin’s already enthusiastic fan response.

This would be a great choice not only to hear the fan response as Allin’s music hits and he skates down the ramp to a presumably upset Jericho and Guevara, but because we all know there will be a few moments during the match (at least) that makes us go, “DAMN!”
