Brock Lesnar and Drew McIntyre will battle it out for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 36, and The Beast Incarnate has been doing what he can to make McIntyre look like a star.

There’s no guarantee Drew McIntyre will beat Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 36. Two years ago, we went into WrestleMania thinking Roman Reigns was guaranteed to defeat Lesnar, and he ended up getting demolished in one of the most bizarre ‘Mania main events of our era. So it’s anyone’s guess as to what happens.

But honestly? It does look like McIntyre is going to get his big moment at the Show of Shows, completing his comeback to WWE. McIntyre eliminated Lesnar from the Royal Rumble with a straight Claymore over the top rope for one of the best – and most shocking – eliminations in the event’s history, and he’s looked amazing ever since.

In a recent interview with talkSPORT’s Alex McCarthy, who has also been on fire this WrestleMania season, McIntyre went out of his way to praise Brock Lesnar for helping him so much in the build to this once-in-a-lifetime WWE Title match.

McIntyre specifically spoke about the Raw segment in which McIntyre Claymored Lesnar three times in front of an especially fired-up crowd. One of those Claymores was an article and, as McCarthy himself previously pointed out, so was McIntyre’s move to pick up the WWE Title after laying out Lesnar.

"“Then I walked out, looked Brock in the eye and dropped him three times. And, I’m sure you probably noticed, one of those kicks wasn’t necessarily planned! He went out of his way – he felt the crowd because that’s how good he is and I’m a professional.”"

Paul Heyman has been obviously high on McIntyre, advocating for the former NXT Champion backstage. Now, McIntyre has his big match, which is scheduled to main event one of the nights of WrestleMania after Vince McMahon and Heyman reportedly butted heads on the show’s closing match.

Lesnar has received a negative reputation from fans for “mailing it in”, which was no doubt fueled by his lackluster WrestleMania 32 bout against fan-favorite Jon Moxley. However, Lesnar has put on some wonderful matches since then, especially against smaller opponents at Survivor Series, and he’s gone above and beyond to help make Drew McIntyre look like a future top star.

Next. Mustafa Ali was a hero for independent wrestlers. dark

Whether or not that means McIntyre wins the title at WrestleMania one year after Seth Rollins beat The Beast at two major PPVs remains to be seen, but, at this point, McIntyre should go all the way. He’s looked too good to lose, and Brock Lesnar deserves credit for his role in McIntyre’s rise.
