WWE: Sarah Logan’s true value to company will come to light upon re-signing
Upon new WWE rumors that workers are campaigning on Sarah Logan’s behalf, the former Crazy Mary Dobson could show her true value upon a return.
In what is now being referred to as a “Black Wednesday,” last week WWE released a bevy of their Superstars in the vain of budget cuts. Among those who were cut was Sarah Logan.
A lot of us fully expected that whenever Logan finally made her way back to the indies, potentially under her former pre-WWE guise as Crazy Mary Dobson, then she will show the world what she’s really made of. However, her WWE run may not be ending so quickly. Not just yet.
First, per a report from Fightful (h/t Cagesideseats), several employees backstage “went to bat” for Logan after she was released, causing speculation that Logan could be re-hired sooner rather than later.
Supporting that claim, it was then reported by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t Wrestlingnews.co) that Logan was actually booked to appear during last night’s episode of Raw – hence why Logan’s name was mentioned so frequently during the broadcast – but at the last possible minute was pulled from the show.
If all of this is to be believed, let’s first say that Sarah Logan should be re-hired by WWE. If so many people went to bat for the former Superstar, then her value to the WWE locker room (if not in front, then certainly behind the camera) is more vital than any of us would have ever imagined.
Next, let’s hypothetically talk about how WWE could benefit from hiring back Sarah Logan. Let’s be honest – in front of the camera, Logan wasn’t one of the highest stars on the roster totem pole. The fact that her final match saw her lose to Shayna Baszler within a minute’s time is enough to show you what WWE thought of her as a wrestler.
However, for enough people backstage to campaign for Logan’s re-signing says a lot about what Logan brought to the table behind the scenes. We don’t know what she could have brought to the table, but it’s not hard to take some guesses.
Maybe her energy helped boost morale for the women’s locker room as a whole. Maybe she brought her decade worth of in-ring experience to play a veteran/mentor role to different wrestlers, whether it be offering advice and suggestions for matches or character wise constructive criticisms.
Whatever she brings to the table, it was enough that out of everyone who was released last Wednesday, Logan’s name was the one frequently brought up by people trying to get her re-hired.
All signs suggest that perhaps WWE should re-hire Logan and if she does find herself back in, then there is potential for her worth as an employee (whether it be as a wrestler or even in a backstage capacity) will be further highlighted.
Sarah Logan was always talented, but if she gets re-hired, WWE can’t deny it anymore. They will know exactly how and what is so special about Sarah Logan.
