Motor City vs. XXX vs. Lethal/Dutt
In 2007, MCMG had one of their first matches as a tag team in TNA. At Hard Justice, they took on the teams of XXX (Christopher Daniels, Senshi aka Low Ki and Elix Skipper) and Jay Lethal and Sonjay Dutt. Most of the men in this match would go on to become integral to the company. The three-way tag team match kicked off the pay-per-view.
The team of Sabin and Shelley were already showing good they were as a team. They were on the same page throughout the match, pulling off a series of tag team moves. In a standout moment, they sat Dutt on Lethal’s shoulders to set up Sabin on the outside. He jumped onto Lethal’s back to take them both down.
As with most teams with a third member, the one not in the match gets involved. While referee Earl Hebner was distracted, Skipper plants Sabin on the top rope. He walks the rope to Sabin to nail him with a huricanrana, setting up to be pinned by Daniels. It backfires when Sabin kicks out.
The match is very fast-paced. Once one team takes down another, the remaining team is there to take them down. The usual high-flying prowess takes place in and out of the ring. Each team goes all out, all match long.
Although MCMG didn’t come away with the win, they showed the TNA faithful what they were all about.
MCMG vs. The Briscoes
During their ROH run, the Guns faced off against The Briscoes in a World Tag Team Title match in 2007. At this time, they were wrestling as the Murder City Machine Guns and weren’t full-time members of the roster.
Sabin and Shelley had formed their tag team in 2006 in Pro Wrestling Zero1-Max.
Murder City made their ROH debut by challenging and attacking the Briscoes a few months earlier. Early on, the Briscoes were too much for the Guns to handle.
Shelley drew an imaginary line and when Jay came towards him, Shelley kissed his boot. He then stood up to spit water in Jay’s face.
The Briscoes were very smooth, yet aggressive and hard hitting in the ring. MCMG showed their cockiness by using saliva and snot on their opponents. The Guns gave the Briscoes a run for their money, but the Briscoes proved why they were the tag team champions.
