Drew Gulak

If you’ve been keeping up with the current news cycle from this past weekend, you already know that Drew Gulak’s contract with WWE has run out. Granted, the emerging story now is that contract negotiations are still currently going on and aren’t “dead” yet, meaning that there is a chance that he could ultimately decide to re-sign with the company. On the other hand, there is just as much of a chance that he decides to walk away from it all and take his talents elsewhere.

In the latter case, don’t be surprised if Gulak decides to go “All Elite” before the year is over. All Elite Wrestling has showcased a focus on in-ring work over character work or “sports entertainment” as it may be collectively recognized as, but Gulak has proven to have mastered the latter case.

Before returning to an all business, brute character, Gulak first shined in WWE with his powerpoint presentations in a quest to turn 205 Live into a “No Fly Zone.” Yes, it was a much sillier character, but it helped him become a standout on the show and highlighted how Gulak can handle character work just as well as he can put on technical masterclasses in the ring. He could pull off the same in AEW.
