Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. vs. Kris Statlander

Bryan Heaton: If this match is going to have any kind of championship ramifications, it would make the most sense for Baker to pick up the victory. Statlander is a fan favorite riding a bit of a hot streak, but it’s clear that the big picture focus is on Baker right now. The big question is, how healthy is the good doctor heading into the pay-per-view?

At 100%, I’d say Baker wins, hands down, furthering her claim to an eventual championship bout. But with her status for AEW Double or Nothing 2020 unknown, I’ll say Statlander takes it and Baker uses the injury as an excuse either for the loss, or to not compete.

Chris Jeter: Man, has Baker found her stride as a heel, or what? Since moving over to the rudo side, she has improved in the ring — she’s still rough around the edges, but plays to her strengths a lot more — and has turned into a legit heat magnet on the microphone. That said, I think Statlander needs the win a bit more, so I’ll pick her to win what will likely be the first of several matches between these two.

Samantha Schipman: First let me say: hooray for two women’s matches! Most of us expected Baker vs. Nyla Rose, but I’m fine with how we got here to set up this match. Baker has improved as a heel (if she stops with the body shaming jokes, that would be great). I really like Statlander a lot. She’s so fun. Statlander has been on a roll and if she gets the Big Bang Theory on Baker, she’ll get the win. I’d like to see Statlander as the No.1 contender.

Jesse Velasquez: Britt has improved a ton with her character development in 2020. She may have been injured on Dynamite, so there may be a question if this match takes place? Statlander is seeking revenge for being thrown in the Lockjaw on the outside a couple of weeks ago. I could see Penelope Ford replacing Baker if necessary. Either way, Statlander should pick up the W.
