WWE NXT: 5 potential mystery partners for Charlotte Flair

Let’s not forget that the new Brand-to-Brand Invitational rules are still in effect for everyone on each brand, so Flair’s partner may not necessarily be another NXT Superstar. She could pick someone to join her side from Raw or SmackDown. In the latter case, why not Dana Brooke?

In storyline, Brooke first came to the main roster years ago by serving as a protege to Charlotte Flair until an eventual split between the two. That relationship can be rekindled, however briefly (perhaps out of Flair’s desperation and struggles to find a partner) on Wednesday.

Plus, with TakeOver quickly approaching and with Flair, Ripley, nor Shirai needing a loss so close to their triple threat title match, Brooke could come in simply to take the pin.

Mia Yim

Charlotte Flair defeated Mia Yim in a match last month that was hyped as a rematch that was “five years in the making” (Flair had beaten Yim five years prior in a squash match, during which Flair was in her original run for NXT while Yim at the time was only there for a one-off enhancement talent appearance).

After putting up a longer, tougher fight this time around, Yim may have earned the respect of Flair. As a result, Flair could respectfully ask Yim to be her partner and Yim would respectfully accept.

This is another instance where Flair’s partner would be there to take the pin from the opposing team, but in this case, there is still a way to protect Yim since she is currently feuding with Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae. If either LeRae or Gargano (or both) wind up running interference, that could be enough to not only help Yim look strong in defeat, but set up a potential mixed tag at TakeOver: In Your House with Keith Lee in the mix.
