Mia Yim and Candice LeRae can lead the way in bringing real intergender wrestling back to the WWE.

Mixed tag team matches have an interesting place in wrestling. The recent heel turn of Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae seems to be headed down a path where the husband and wife duo may find themselves tagging. If they are pitted against Keith Lee and Mia Yim in the future, WWE should not shy away from the idea of intergender wrestling.

LeRae and Yim have a catalog of intergender matches from before they were signed to the WWE and they are the exact types of wrestlers that could shine in these types of matches in the WWE.

LeRae has shared the ring with the likes of Joey Ryan, Ethan Page, Joey Janela and NXT Champion Adam Cole. Yim has her own resume that includes such competitors as ACH, Raven and even Lee. They both have their own styles that fit intergender wrestling, but when they get into those matches, they consistently deliver.

WWE has a less than stellar track record of utilizing the women on their roster. Even in a post Women’s Revolution world, there is still a lot to be desired for the ladies on the roster. During the Attitude Era, that utilization was much worse as the women were rarely used in a respectable manner.

One would hope that the WWE could prove some doubters wrong and properly book intergender wrestling in today’s entertainment climate. Looking at the four names involved in this potential angle, there is an opportunity to make that happen this time around. Many of the biggest names on the WWE roster today are women.

Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch, Bayley, Charlotte Flair, Asuka and even Ronda Rousey when she was there. The roster is filled with women that would make intergender wrestling believable and this is a chance to get that trend moving.

Imagine a situation pitting Gargano against Yim in a one-on-one match. Or an intergender wrestling match where we get to see LeRae running circles around Lee. These are four professional performers that could make this work within this developing storyline.

The NXT roster, especially the names competing for the North American title, has been stagnant as of late. This is an opportunity to change things up a bit for each of the four competitors involved.

Much of the wrestling community has pushed the WWE to do something different from a creative standpoint. There is a lot of talent ladies on the roster who would give much of the television product a fresh look.

Next. ACH deserves a '"cool" comeback. dark

Bringing back intergender wrestling is a step-in creative experimentation that the WWE should investigate before their main competitors do. Mia Yim, Keith Lee, Johnny Gargano, and Candice LeRae are the best four to try it with currently.
