Wrestling fans should get ready to support Black Wrestlers Matter’s upcoming show.

It’s crucial for wrestling fans to support Black wrestlers and promotions owned by Black people, and that support can be shown in a variety of ways. The promotion Black Wrestlers Matter, founded by Jon West in 2015, has announced a show on August 22 in Des Moines, Iowa called “Black Wrestlers Matter – A Celebration of Black Professional Wrestling”.

This event will take place at the Franklin Junior High School auditorium, and masks will be required for those who want to attend. They are selling tickets online, which includes VIP tickets, standard tickets, or tickets that come with “Black Wrestlers Matter” merchandise.

More importantly, buying tickets will support an important cause, because this show isn’t just an important celebration of Black Professional Wrestling, it’s also a fundraiser for the “Knowledge is Power” foundation in Des Moines.

“Knowledge is Power”, as per Black Wrestlers Matter’s release, is led by local musician B. Wells and aims to raise money to help over 30,000 students at Des Moines public schools obtain clothing, school supplies, and personal hygiene items like soap and toothpaste.

There are already several stars announced for the show, such as founder Jon West and other local stars like Air Wolfe and Brooke Valentine. Faye Jackson has also been announced, and she’s definitely a big-name get on the independent wrestling scene for this exciting show.

The event will also be available for online streaming, so fans outside of Des Moines can show their support for both Black Wrestlers Matter as a promotion and the foundation they are helping with this show.
