3.     DOCTOR Britt Baker, D.M.D.: Best Heel in Women’s Wrestling

I know, I know, there’s a lot of Bayley fans and Sasha Banks fans out there that would wholeheartedly, almost violently disagree with me, but if you have been watching Dynamite, it’s just a fact.  She did an excellent job while she was mobile and putting on decent matches.

However, since she has injured her upper shin (anterior lateral tibial fracture, plus some ligament and tendon stuff) – I just looked into it and it’s pretty gruesome and serious, as people that typically experience such an injury are in automobile accidents or falls from great heights – she has sat on her makeshift, protected throne and passed humorous, heelish notes to Tony Schiavone while sparking up a feud with Big Swole.

Pretty tough to have an injured wrestler carry a feud, but Baker (and the creative folks around here) have done a stellar job at building this rivalry.  Last night, Baker finagled a way to have Tony Khan suspend and ban Big Swole from the building on grounds of “kidnapping” after Swole commandeered the golf cart that Baker was in before Khan’s official announcement is depicted in the screenshot below.

Somehow, you know that Baker politicked for the suspension, as what Swole did is a relatively minor offense in the wild world of professional wrestling.  Baker, as a heel, has a rare quality that most heels – check that, most wrestlers – do not possess: an undeniable abundance of charisma.  Everything she does is horrible but also kind of endearing.

I just think she’s that good and only getting better.  When she was screaming BLOODY MURDER after Swole found her way back inside the building and located her, I was laughing my ass off.

I think she’s going to be a big star.

She’s a huge contributor to AEW’s growth in the whole world of professional wrestling, not just the women’s division.  Her program with Swole is gonna last for a good while before Swole finally gets to face her in the ring, so be prepared for more hijinks.  I’m beyond psyched for Swole to be given such a high profile role in this could-be-main-event program.

She deserves the hell out of it.
