WWE fans are hoping the company doesn’t mess up how they book Keith Lee on Raw.

On Saturday, Keith Lee dropped the NXT Championship before he even spent 50 days with the title, and that frustrated WWE fans. And understandably so, especially for Black wrestling fans who had waited eight years for a Black man to hold the top title on the Black and Gold brand.

Now, Lee has been called up and is headed to Monday Night Raw, as WWE advertised the move during SummerSlam. Judging by social media, countless fans are hyped up to specifically watch Lee’s debut, and they have high hopes for him.

But there are also plenty of nerves, since WWE could easily mess up how they book Lee, who has the potential to be an absolute top star in professional wrestling. He has the total package; it seems like there’s nothing Lee can’t do.

The good news is that PWInsider.com’s Mike Johnson reports that WWE plans on making Lee one of their top babyfaces on Raw.

Who are WWE Raw’s current top babyfaces?

Currently, Raw’s top male babyface is Drew McIntyre, and it’s unclear who else is behind him. Edge, maybe? Seth Rollins, Bobby Lashley, and Randy Orton are the top three heels, as Raw has been a rather heel-heavy show lately.

McIntyre’s enjoyed great success as WWE Champion, and Keith Lee has world champion written all over him. Most wrestlers don’t win world titles in their first year of being called up, but WWE fans will hope that Lee is an exception to that, especially in light of how he lost both titles.

Recall that Lee had a huge coronation moment earlier this summer at NXT Great American Bash in which he won the NXT Title and NXT North American Championship. WWE had him relinquish the North American Title literally in weeks, and then he lost the NXT Title in his first defense against Karrion Kross.

Next. Why Orton vs. McIntyre should happen at Payback. dark

All eyes will be glued on Raw to see if Vince McMahon follows through with this reported plan to push Lee in the top spot he has earned on the strength of his performances in NXT and at Survivor Series last year.
