Righteous Reg’s list of the best 500 Black wrestlers in the world is out, and WWE superstar Sasha Banks ranks No. 1.

Although Sasha Banks may have lost two titles in WWE in the span of one week, she picked up an important accolade this week by being ranked first on the #BW500. The Black Wrecellence 500. The list of the best 500 Black wrestlers in the world as a celebration of Black Excellence in professional wrestling.

This list was created by Righteous Reg, who watches more professional wrestling than almost anyone out there. I can’t imagine the hours he put in to creating this list and ranking everyone, but it looks like he absolutely nailed it.

Check out the Twitter embed of the full top 500 below.

This list is definitely a who’s who of the best wrestlers in the world today. Trish Adora and AJ Gray are two wrestlers you NEED to become familiar with as soon as humanly possible if you don’t know them, because they are right behind Sasha Banks in the top 500.

Keith Lee, Isaiah “Swerve” Scott, and Kofi Kingston are other WWE superstars in the top 10, with wrestlers like Chris Bey, Jonathan Gresham, and Scorpio Sky  in there. Lee Moriarty, known as the Apex of Combat, is also in the top 10.

Rache Chanel, Isaiah Broner, Billy Dixon, Eel O’Neal, Holidead, Air Wolf, Keita Murray, Arik Royal…I could just go on and on about the amazing wrestlers featured on this list outside the top 10!

It’s been incredible to see all the fans reacting to the list, as well as the wrestlers themselves celebrating a top 500 list that celebrates Black professional wrestlers. The PWI500 account retweeted and recognized Righteous Reg’s list, whose influence was seen in this year’s more representative PWI500.

After this inaugural release, hopefully the BW500 becomes a household name for wrestling fans like the PWI500. It’s definitely been important for Black wrestling fans and Black wrestlers to see this list, and there are a lot of fans who can use Righteous Reg’s top 500 as a starting point of which other Black wrestlers they need to be checking out.

But of course, the Blueprint herself, Sasha Banks, is on top. She’s arguably the best wrestler in the entire world, a five-time Raw Women’s Champion, and the owner of some of the best matches in WWE history, such as her TakeOver matches with Bayley.

Based on her current program with Bayley on SmackDown, it’s safe to say she’ll have a couple of more all-time classics to add to her resume in the near future.

It’s also safe to say Righteous Reg and the BW500 will continue to make waves, and this is an essential list for pro wrestling fans to refer to over the next year until the 2021 edition comes out.
