AEW Women’s World Championship Match: Hikaru Shida (c) vs. Thunder Rosa

The third option – and the one I think is most likely to be the match of the night – is the AEW Women’s World Championship Match where Hikaru Shida finds herself defending against the reigning NWA World Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa. We saw Rosa make her AEW debut this week against independent wrestling veteran Serena Deeb, and in just under ten minutes they managed to be the clear highlight of AEW Dynamite.

On top of her undeniable resume outside of AEW, Hikaru Shida has showcased her in-ring prowess within All Elite Wrestling against the likes of Nyla Rose, Big Swole, Kris Statlander, Diamante, Penelope Ford, Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D., and more. Shida’s title win against Nyla Rose back at AEW Double or Nothing 2020 is still one of the top women’s matches in AEW history.

Except this time, Shida matches her greatness against “La Mera Mera” Thunder Rosa. The reigning NWA World Women’s Champion makes her pay-per-view debut this Saturday, but anyone familiar with her resume knows she’s been one of the most captivating competitors on the independent wrestling scene. If AEW is smart, they’ll give these two women twenty to thirty minutes, stand back, and let them paint a masterpiece on the canvas at AEW All Out 2020.
