Former WWE superstar Eva Marie is reportedly set to return to the company in the near future.

Eva Marie is coming back. The former WWE superstar is reportedly set to make her return to the company after a three-year hiatus from the business.

As first reported in an exclusive by Cultaholic’s Aidan Gibbons, Marie could be returning as soon as tonight’s episode of Monday Night Raw. Either way, her second debut seems to be imminent.

PWInsider has since confirmed the report. Both sources indicate that Marie is in Orlando for this week’s set of tapings and already underwent medical testing on Sunday.

If all goes according to plan, she’ll likely make her re-debut before the month is over, perhaps as soon as tonight.

PWInsider added that Marie actually agreed to a deal with WWE back in September, although it’s unclear whether she will be contracted as an in-ring talent or as an on-air personality. It’s also unclear whether she will be a part of tonight’s draft pool or which brand she will be assigned to.

Eva Marie was gaining a little momentum toward the end of her last stint with WWE.

The last time we saw Marie in a WWE ring she was participating in an angle where she would avoid wrestling due to a series of unfortunate events or excuses. The angle, while silly in nature, actually got over with the live audience and made for good heel heat.

While never the most accomplished in-ring competitor, Marie seemed to be finding her footing in that role before she was abruptly taken off television following a wellness policy violation that saw her suspended for 30 days in August of 2016.

A year later, the WWE and Marie mutually parted ways ending her four-year stint with the company.

Marie originally signed with WWE back in 2013 and was immediately cast on the first season of Total Divas. She would remain on the show for the first six seasons as she was gradually introduced to an in-ring role on television.

The last match she wrestled was in July of 2016 against Becky Lynch. Since leaving WWE, Marie has taken part in various other ventures including appearing in the second season of Big Brother: Celebrity Edition.

She’s also launched her own podcast, The Natalie Eva Marie Show, and partnered with multiple companies as a brand ambassador including Monster Energy’s Reign brand and Australian fitness and fashion brand Ryderwear.

In a particularly stacked women’s division, it will be interesting to see what role WWE asks Marie to play.

And if you ask me, I wouldn’t mind a return to her previous gimmick that never really got a chance to lift off the ground floor.
