At AEW Full Gear, the Young Bucks will challenge the World Tag Team Champions FTR in a highly-anticipated match. But will an injury affect the outcome?

If the Young Bucks lose their AEW World Tag Team Title match at Full Gear this Saturday against FTR, then they won’t be able to challenge for the most prestigious tag titles in wrestling ever again. Those are the stakes for this heated rivalry between two of the world’s premier teams.

As if. that weren’t enough, there’s a real-life situation emerging that adds even more intrigue to the outcome of this match.

Matt Jackson seems to be dealing with a potentially serious knee injury.

According to a report on Wrestling Observer Radio, via Fightful.com’s Jeremy Lambert, Matt Jackson has a partially torn MCL and a “thinning” ACL.

Matt Jackson suffered the injury on AEW Dynamite in July

Yeah, that sounds horrible.

Jackson reportedly suffered the injury in a match all the way back in July, so AEW has been using the injury as an angle in the build to the huge tag title match between FTR and the Young Bucks at Full Gear.

Hopefully, Matt is OK and can take some time off soon. It’s totally unclear how this injury impacts the upcoming match, especially since you just know these four men want to give everything they have in a dream match of his magnitude for the tag titles, which mean so much in AEW.

But the main focus should be on Matt’s health, especially over the long term. Knee injuries are tricky business, and a “thinning” ACL does not sound good at all.

Keep an eye on further updates regarding Matt’s status both going into the Pay Per View on Nov. 7 and coming out of the big match, depending on the outcome. Perhaps we could be seeing the last of the Young Bucks as challengers for the tag team titles.
