9. Dominik Mysterio makes his WWE debut

Dominik Mysterio has been a part of the WWE Universe almost as long as his father. He can be seen as far back as 2003 on SmackDown when he was only six years old. He watched his father win the Cruiserweight Championship on that night and now he has competed beside his father in a tag team match.

After over a year of being involved with his father’s feuds against the likes of Brock Lesnar, Dominik made his official in-ring debut at the 2020 SummerSlam against Seth Rollins in a Street Fight. Although Rollins came up with the victory on that night, Dominik showed that he can handle himself in the ring against one of the best in Seth Rollins.

The ceiling is high for young Mysterio’s career if treated correctly. Dominik has been improving as he continues to gain experience. When it comes to rookies of the year, it is hard to look over Dominik Mysterio. He has had a tremendous year and I expect that we will see plenty of him in the future.

Only time will tell if Dominik will continue the legacy of the Mysterio name and become another legendary third-generation superstar. However, I have hope that Mysterio can become a breakout star just like his father before him.

8. Charlotte Flair Wins NXT Women’s Championship

The entire lead up to this shocking moment was full of shocking moments along the way. Charlotte first shocked everyone by winning the 2020 Royal Rumble match. She would continue to shock everybody as she accepted the challenge by then NXT Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley for a match at WrestleMania 36.

For the first time ever, an NXT championship was defended at WrestleMania. It was a huge move for women’s evolution and for NXT. Charlotte was able to defeat Ripley to join Shayna Baszler as a two time NXT Women’s Champion.

Many were skeptical of the move to make Charlotte an NXT champion, but Charlotte did NXT right and defended it as a part of the NXT roster. She held the title for over two months before losing the title to Io Shirai in a triple threat match also including Rhea Ripley.

After her NXT Championship run, Charlotte would have one match with Asuka before being written off to deal with her implants. During the recent WWE draft, Charlotte was drafted to Raw, and we are hoping that she will be back soon.
