There are negotiations ongoing that could result in MLW airing an additional hour of first-run programming alongside their acclaimed Fusion show.

Initially reported by Mike Johnson at PWInsider. It seems that MLW is shopping a new show independent of MLW Fusion, which airs on YouTube and BeIn sports to major television broadcast companies.

While no details were provided about which networks the show was being shown to, Johnson reported that both major English and Spanish-speaking networks had received the pitch from ICM.

ICM partnered with the Miami-based promotion in 2020 to focus on new Television and streaming deals, a partnership that seems to be paying off in spades. The company reportedly took meetings with CBS/Viacom and Amazon about streaming rights for MLW Fusion in the past, according to Fightful.com.

MLW also announced in 2020 that they had renewed deals with Roku, Fubo Sports, and Pluto TV.

In an interview earlier this year, Court Bauer the CEO of MLW said that they were in talks with two tier one networks, but was unable to expand on those comments at the time.

What does this mean for MLW?

The long and short of this means that we are probably getting more weekly MLW programming, which is great news for fans of the small promotion’s Lucha Libre style and offering. For the wrestling completionist in your life, this means even more content to consume.

Between WWE, AEW, RoH, IMPACT Wrestling, and New Japan USA, there are nearly 40 hours of weekly content, not including pay per views and independent promotions, which is a truly daunting task. However, I will say that more Contra on my screen is always a good thing.

This could also allow MLW’s Mexico based performers to become prevalent on our screens again. Since the COVID-19 pandemic instituted travel bans from many countries, several top stars in the company have been unable to compete.
