Maki Itoh stepped through the All Elite Wrestling tunnel during the AEW Revolution Buy In to join Britt Baker to face Riho and Thunder Rosa.

When the AEW Women’s World Title eliminator was announced, Maki Itoh caught the attention of a lot of new fans with her simple tweet to express her excitement to be involved. Even though she did not win, losing to eventual winning Ryo Mizunami in the first round, she was still someone that fans wanted to see. That wish was granted when she joined Britt Baker in a tag team match on the Buy In for AEW Revolution.

Earlier in the evening Baker used a “Doctor’s Note” to explain why Reba/Rebel was unable to participate in the match. This allowed her to find a new partner, and that partner was Itoh who was welcomed by cheers from the crowd. After singing herself into the ring, she partnered with Baker in what was a strong match. Baker and Itoh were able to get the victory after Reba landed a shot on Thunder Rosa with her crutch, setting the stage for Baker to get the pinfall.

Itoh was one of what was expected to be multiple surprises on the night. She had to travel 18-hours to get to the venue in time to participate in the show.

It will be interesting to see what is next for Itoh. Even though she did not win the title shot, it was clear that fans wanted her to participate in the AEW women’s division and she is yet another talented name on that roster.
