Among many talking points that popped up throughout last Sunday’s All Elite Wrestling (AEW): Revolution pay-per-view — good and bad — the literal “brass ring” the wrestlers in the “Face of the Revolution” ladder match, which featured Scorpio Sky, ranked near the top.

Before and during the match, fans online wasted no time joking about AEW’s latest swipe at WWE while also noting its uncanny resemblance to a ring in the Sonic the Hedgehog video games.

In the end, Sky grabbed the golden donut to earn a future TNT Championship match against Darby Allin, but he also had some things to say about the trinket his character risked life and limb to pursue.

According to Scorpio Sky, the golden ring he unlatched had some literal weight to it.

Speaking on his Wrestling with the Week podcast, Sky discussed how heavy the brass ring was (h/t to Fightful’s Jeremy Lambert for the transcription):

“People were getting their jokes in about that Sonic ring, but that thing was heavy. It was really heavy. People were like, ‘Oh, you gonna take that home?’ ‘Hell no,’ because I’m not going through security. It’s legitimately 25 or 30 pounds. It’s so heavy. It wasn’t even easy to get off the hook because you really had to lift it off. It was not light at all. That will probably be the last people see of that unless they do another Face of the Revolution match.”

Sky outlasted Cody Rhodes, Lance Archer, Penta El Zero M, Max Caster, and the debuting Ethan Page to win the ladder match — a well-reviewed one, by the way — and earn another chance at the TNT Title. He will receive his match with Allin on the March 10 episode of AEW: Dynamite, with Sky getting plenty of fan support for a win and a potential push in the upper midcard of the promotions hierarchy.
