On this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown, there are neither scheduled segments nor scheduled matches. The WWE is currently three weeks away from WrestleMania 37, and there are only two scheduled matches from SmackDown’s recent bookings: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Edge for the Universal Title, and Sasha Banks (c) vs. Bianca Belair for the SmackDown Women’s Title. Could Daniel Bryan change the main event and get added to the Universal Title Match?

Additionally, other matches could be added to the match card, and most could come from the SmackDown side. Those additional matches involve the midcard and tag divisions for the most part, as the WWE has a proclivity to book those matches at the last minute. With that being said, it’s now time to preview and predict the matches and segments that will occur on this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown.

WWE SmackDown is scheduled to take place on March 19, 2021, at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT live on FOX. Here are some predictions for this week’s show.

5.) Street Profits vs. Alpha Academy vs. Mysterios [SmackDown Tag Team Championships Number One Contender’s Match]

On last week’s WWE SmackDown, Dominik and Rey Mysterio defeated The Street Profits via pinfall with the Small Package. Immediately after that match, The Alpha Academy defeated The Mysterios via pinfall with the Big Splash by Otis. Dirty Dawgs were watching these matches from the commentary table, and it has become clear that Street Profits, Alpha Academy, and Mysterios all have a substantial claim for a SmackDown Tag Team Championship opportunity.

Those teams will either battle in a fatal four-way match against Dirty Dawgs for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania or battle in a triple threat match to determine the number one contender for the titles at ‘Mania. The former option is more likely since it would be criminal to leave any of these tag teams off of the ‘Mania card. However, if the latter happens, The Mysterios are the best option since they are babyfaces and would elicit a fresh matchup with the champions.

Prediction: Mysterios
