Since coming to AEW, Jungle Boy has been part of the trios team, Jurassic Express, alongside Luchasaurus and Marko Stunt. He has been able to learn how to work with the camera and has gotten in reps over the last couple of years. We’ve seen him take on the leadership roles throughout various points of the trios’ time together. AEW fans have also seen how talented he is in singles matches.

On the most recent episode of Dynamite, Jungle Boy challenged Darby Allin for the TNT Championship. As if competing for a title isn’t enough of a big deal, the match was the main event. The two youngsters had an excellent match. Jungle Boy went toe-to-toe with the champ and nearly won. This match is a preview of what the future of AEW looks like.

Jungle Boy has flashed the potential to become a featured babyface in AEW.

With his movie-star good looks (thanks in part to his father, the late Luke Perry) and impressive in-ring skills, Jungle Boy is a budding star. He hasn’t been given a lot of time on the mic, so it’s hard to gauge exactly where those skills are. Given the way Dustin Rhodes has helped talents like Britt Baker improve their gift of gab, Jungle Boy could potentially deliver high-quality promos when the time comes.

Back in December 2019, Jungle Boy had the opportunity to show his in-ring skills against Chris Jericho. At the time, Jericho was the AEW World Champion, however, it was a non-title match. “Le Champion” bet Jungle Boy that he couldn’t last ten minutes in the ring with him. Jungle Boy was very impressive and was able to withstand Jericho for the full time.

He also worked a couple of matches with MJF that gave fans a glimpse of the future. Their best match to date was at last year’s Double or Nothing. These two seemed destined to have long-term storylines throughout their career.

In another big match, Jungle Boy answered Cody’s open challenge for the TNT Championship, and the bloody then-champion was nearly beaten in the main event. Along with Cody’s bloody face, they also went through a table. Fans got more glimpses of a future champion while he was in the ring with one of the best. Cody pushed the young wrestler to his limits.

A few weeks ago, he stood out once again in a featured match, this time with FTR’s Dax Harwood. Jungle Boy more than held his own with the former tag team champion. Every time he’s presented with a big opportunity, he delivers. These high-caliber matches helped him to stand out as a future main event star.

Winning the AEW World Tag Team Championships with Jurassic Express would give him the experience he needs as a champion. From there, he can build to becoming a single champion. Jungle Boy is easy to like, has a great character, and has impressive matches. He even has a catchy theme song that fans love to sing. Given that MJF will be a top heel in a few years, Jungle Boy is the perfect person to stand across from him as the babyface.
