WWE has a special star in SmackDown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair
By Amit Shukla
Bianca Belair is a top-tier superstar, and she made her dream come true when she cashed in on her opportunity and became the new SmackDown Women’s Champion at WrestleMania. In the process of becoming the new Women’s Champion on the blue brand, she also made history as she competed in the first-ever WrestleMania main event to feature two African American wrestlers. The EST of WWE has made her mark, and it continues to grow as she switched places from the black and gold brand to the blue brand. There is a lot of enthusiasm and responsibility with this shift, but will the WWE let her deliver.
The question arises as we have seen the wrestling juggernaut ground people to obscurity and even reach a position where they never made it on TV. EC3 is one classic example of this because the talented superstar came from the third brand to the biggest brand in the WWE, but he got screen time for 24/7 championship storylines. It was a complete waste of his talent, and the superstar never made it big in WWE’s roster. It finally ended with EC3 getting released from the company.
WWE has superstars that can deliver, and Bianca Belair is one such talented superstar in the women’s division, as was EC3 in the men’s division. Vince and Co. need to ensure that they don’t relegate this talented superstar to obscurity. Bianca Belair can deliver powerful promos and even more powerful performance between the ropes. It is only worth the time when the company recognizes the star they have on the blue brand.
Sasha Banks helped her grow since she laid out the challenge, and The Boss’ smile after losing her title to the new talent on the roster speaks about the pay off of her efforts. WWE needs to ensure that Bianca gets good opponents and new storylines instead of stretching a storyline beyond proportion. The 2021 Women’s Royal Rumble match winner has a lot of finishing moves in her arsenal, so one can rest assured that she can put her opponents to sleep in the blink of an eye.
WWE knows how to pull the trigger on a superstar, and The Man’s evolution is a perfect example of it. Becky Lynch was slipping into obscurity until things turned for her at SummerSlam 2018 when she attacked her long-time friend and The Queen of the WWE, Charlotte Flair. This attack catapulted her to new heights and made her the talk of the town. She became the standard-bearer in the Women’s Division and respected by superstars and fans alike.
Bianca Belair needs the same treatment where she gets quality opponents and proves her mettle to the fans and the women’s locker room. She has gold by her side, and she is a golden superstar that needs just that extra push and the extra care so that her career doesn’t derail. WWE shouldn’t make her another superstar in the long list of performers that have lost their charm in an attempt to become valuable.
