“You are not on my level, you hear me?”  was the phrase Mustafa Ali repeatedly told his long-time friend turned rival, Ricochet, throughout their match on the April 28, 2021 edition of Main Event.  Now, for people without any context, that would appear as if Mustafa was gloating, or even trying to get inside his   opponents head… so allow me to present this promo prior to Ali vs Ricochet on last week’s episode of Main Event

In the preceding promo, Ricochet states he and Ali will “fight forever”  because they are the best.  A statement  Ali clearly took umbrage with, prompting him to repeatedly scream the phrase referred to at the start of this article throughout the duration of the match.  As for the match itself, it was an incredible bout that ended with Ali emerging victorious.  No amount of words I can put together will ever suffice to explain the insane chemistry these two magnificent superstars share inside the squared circle.

Ricochet and Ali bring out the best in each other, whether it is in the ring or in the promos they cut. One is constantly trying best the other, to prove the other wrong, to prove themselves the superior talent. The promos they cut are heartfelt, passionate, and resonate with a desire to prove themselves. Take a look at this promo by Mustafa Ali prior to their clash on  the May 6th, 2021 edition of Main Event :

Listen to the passion in that promo, the anger, the confidence in his ability, The desire to prove that his win the previous week was not a fluke.  Now look at Ricochet’s response

Here we see Ricochet’s earnest desire to prove that he can indeed defeat Ali and that he was willing to do anything to show to the world that he is the better of the two as evidenced by the tactics he employed to win the rematch pulling a page out of Ali’s book. These matches had some of the most insane spots I’ve ever seen, including:

(yes that was a  shooting Star Press on to a standing opponent so go ahead and watch it on repeat, I know I have.)

and this:

Now imagine if we got to see this on Monday Night Raw. Imagine if WWE allowed these two to tell their story on their flagship show.  There’s certainly plenty of time on the show, especially considering the number of segments that are repeated on a weekly basis, so why not allow Mustafa Ali and Ricochet to showcase their talent on Monday Nights?  Their matches on Main Event are already bringing eyes to the product and their colleagues are all giving them the props they oh so rightly deserve:

Mustafa  Ali vs Ricochet has a fight forever feel that fans are hankering for, and a story that has most on the edges of their seats. These two superstars are already killing it on Main Event, but they deserve to be THE Main Event on Monday, and the only thing standing in their way is WWE’s hesitation to give them the platform and let them do what they do best, wrestle.
