AEW: Dynamite will air on Friday for the third straight week to accommodate the NBA’s television schedule. This week’s show is packed with both announced matches and segments that will move storylines along and produce some new rivalries almost two weeks removed from Double or Nothing.

Lance Archer in action

Lance Archer is scheduled to compete on Friday but his opponent has not yet been announced.  Coming off of an unsuccessful attempt to take the TNT Title from Miro, Archer will most likely enter into a new program with someone after this match.

Archer is a really good wrestler and needs to stay involved in a major storyline, but there is no clear heel for him to feud with right now that isn’t already tied up with someone else. The Inner Circle seems to still be feuding with the Pinnacle, Matt Hardy attacked Christian Cage last week, and Team Taz is occupied with Hangman Page and their own inner strife. So, it seems that now might be a good time for Archer to set his sights on the new guy: Andrade El Idolo.

This would give Archer an interesting feud and it could be a great way to send Andrade to the top of the card, should he be able to topple the Murderhawk Monster. The only downside is having to listen to Vickie Guerrero shriek into the microphone, but we have to take the bad with the good. And if listening to Vickie will get me a match or two between Archer and Andrade, I am all in.

Let’s take a look at the rest of the announced card and what we can expect on Friday Night Dynamite this week.

Darby Allin and Sting speak

This will no doubt be in regards to Scorpio Sky and Ethan Page’s challenge that they laid out to Darby Allin last week. The duo gave Sting all the credit for he and Allin’s victory at Double or Nothing and said that Sting “drug Darby over the finish line”.

Sky and Page went on to tell Allin to pick anyone but Sting as a tag team partner to see if he could have the same success against them.

I don’t expect Allin to announce who his partner will be this week. Where is the suspense in that? It would be much better if Sky and Page found out who they had to face just minutes before the match.

But the question remains: Who Allin will end up teaming up with? The most logical guess is a member of the Dark Order, as they have had Allin and Sting’s backs in recent weeks, and it would be a great way to bring back someone like, say, John Silver back into the fold. Since Silver was injured in a match against Darby Allin, it would be fitting that he comes back to partner with Allin to take on Page and Sky.

Silver had built a lot of momentum as a wrestler and a character before his unfortunate injury.  And teaming him with an emerging superstar like Allin will get him right back on track.

Angelico vs Christian Cage

Matt Hardy’s hired gun, Angelico, will take on Christian Cage this week. Last week, after winning a tag match with Jungle Boy, Cage left the ring to give his young partner his time in the spotlight, as Jungle Boy has an upcoming AEW Title shot against Kenny Omega.

As Cage was leaving the ring area, Matt Hardy snuck up behind him and laid him out. It seems as these two will inevitably lock horns again, reigniting their decades-long rivalry. Before that happens, though, Hardy will make Cage go through any and all members of the HFO, and even a few wrestlers that are just looking to make a buck.

Angelico will get the first opportunity to stop Christian’s attempt to get his hands on Matt Hardy.

If you are putting together a list of the most underrated wrestlers in AEW, Angelico should most definitely be on your list. He is a really good mat wrestler and has a varied attack of submissions that he can pull out of almost any situation. I am very excited to see him get this spot on Dynamite, even if it will be in a losing fashion.

Angelico will have his moments and some help from Hardy, but at the end of the day, Cage is the hero in this video game and Angelico is simply a level one obstacle. Once Cage clears this stage on Friday, it will be on to level two, as he works his way toward Hardy. Winner: Christian Cage

Leyla Hirsch vs Nyla Rose

Well, it seems as though Nyla Rose is going to be the first challenger to Britt Baker for her newly won AEW Women’s World Title.

Part of me likes this. Rose has had her way with Baker in the past, including defeating her in the eliminator tournament to keep Baker from getting her title shot one pay-per-view sooner than she actually did.

What better way to cement Britt Baker’s arrival and legitimacy than by defeating a woman that has been a thorn in the good doctor’s side for a long time?

On the other hand, it seems like Rose is constantly in the title picture. We saw Rose have multiple matches for the AEW Women’s World Championship with both Riho and Hikaru Shida, not to mention Rose’s own time as champ. Putting Rose back in the title picture runs the risk of overexposing “The Native Beast”.

Leyla Hirsch is a gamer and she will come to fight. But when the dust settles, Rose’s size and power will be too much. Rose will get the win and then be confronted, from a distance of course, by Baker, who will be demanding an explanation to Rose ruining her celebration last week. Winner: Nyla Rose

“Hangman” Adam Page & 10 vs Brian Cage & Powerhouse Hobbs

The wheels continue to come off for Team Taz. Well, maybe it is just one wheel. Brian Cage has seemingly been on a different page than the rest of the faction for months, and things finally seem to be coming to a head.

This seems like the perfect spot to make Cage’s split from Team Taz official. Hook and/or Ricky Starks will most likely look to give their teammates an unfair advantage at some point during the match and The Machine will have none of it.

Cage will leave Hobbs high and dry to suffer the loss, leaving his former associates irate. Then, Cage will branch out on his own and his run as a babyface in AEW will begin. Winners: “Hangman” Adam Page & 10

Young Bucks & Brandon Cutler vs Penta El Zero Miedo, PAC, & Eddie Kingston

The result of this match will absolutely hinge on the age-old question: Will Eddie Kingston be able to get along with his teammates well enough to earn a victory?

I think the answer here is yes. After suffering a loss to, and enduring a beatdown from The Elite last week, PAC and Penta El Zero M will see how good life can be with a third person watching their backs while Rey Fenix continues to heal.

And while this won’t get Kingston into Death Triangle’s best friends club, it will at least impress upon them that he has value and can be useful.

The addition to Brandon Cutler into this matchup also allows the Young Bucks to be on the losing end of things, without cooling off the amazing heel run that they have built up over the last couple of months. Look for the good guys to exact some revenge here and pick up a win, but for PAC and Penta to be nowhere close to trusting Eddie Kingston. Winners: Penta, PAC, & Eddie Kingston

Evil Uno vs Miro for the TNT Championship

Evil Uno will challenge the newly crowned TNT Champion, Miro, in what should be the main event of Dynamite.

Members of the Dark Order continue to get shots at the TNT Title, and that isn’t such a bad thing.  The group has a lot of individual talent, as we have seen by the performances of John Silver and 10 against former TNT Champion Darby Allin.

Uno is a great Twitter follow, a very funny guy, and a really talented performer who has dropped a lot of excess weight over the past year to maximize his talent in the ring. He deserves this spot on the card to showcase what he can do.

Jungle Boy vs Kenny Omega is the perfect match to start building a new star. dark. Next

One thing Evil Uno is not, however, is the next TNT Champion. Miro is just getting started with his run through the AEW roster as TNT Champion, and he will take care of Uno here. I would get used to it: Miro is going to be the TNT Champion for a long time to come. Winner: Miro
