The last time John Cena was seen in a WWE ring, he was having his mind played with by The Fiend. That changed at the end of Money in the Bank on Sunday when he made a surprise visit to face off with Roman Reigns at the finale of the show.

Reigns had just finished a dramatic battle against Edge, defeating him to retain the WWE Universal Championship. Seth Rollins played a key part in their battle, saving Reigns and then attacking Edge again, setting the space for Reigns to finish the fight. Edge and Rollins would battle through the crowd, leaving Reigns in the ring alone.

As Reigns took the microphone to speak, Cena’s theme music would hit. The fans erupted and the 13-time WWE Champion appeared. Its been rumored that Cena was set to return, but when of said return was the big question. With SummerSlam looming, the idea of a main event match between Reigns and Cena is one of the biggest matches that the WWE can create at this time. Neither man said anything over the microphone, with the showcase ending with Cena soaking in the cheers from the fans.

Outside of Cena’s return, other big moments of the night include both Big E and Nikki A.S.H. claiming the men’s and women’s Money in the Bank briefcases, along with Bobby Lashley decimating Kofi Kingston to retain the WWE Championship.
