Report: Naomi moved to SmackDown women’s division

In the midst of last night’s Money In The Bank Pay Per View, Naomi was moved from RAW to SmackDown.

After competing in last night’s Women’s Money In The Bank Match, Naomi was quietly moved from Raw to SmackDown. Although her singles run on the RAW brand wasn’t anything to be excited over, her transition to SmackDown could be a huge boost to her career.

Naomi was originally drafted by the SmackDown brand during the 2016 WWE Draft on July 19th. During the 2016 Backlash Pay Per View, completed in a six-pack challenge to determine the inaugural SmackDown Women’s Champion where she would eliminate Alexa Bliss before being eliminated by Natalya. After being inactive for the next three months, Naomi would return on the January 24th edition of SmackDown Live.

During the 2017 Elimination Chamber Pay Per View, Naomi would capture the SmackDown Women’s Championship by defeating Alexa Bliss. It was the first time in her career winning the championship and she also made history by becoming the first African American to win the prestigious title. Unfortunately, she had to relinquish the title the following Tuesday due to an injury she sustained during her match with Bliss at Elimination Chamber. On April 2nd, Naomi made her return at WrestleMania 33 in her hometown of Orlando, Florida to recapture the SmackDown Women’s Championship in a Six-Pack Challenge by defeating Alexa Bliss. Two days later, she would retain the championship by defeating Bliss once again.

Naomi was moved to RAW after she was drafted there during the 2020 WWE Draft. During her time there, she tagged alongside Lana during Night 1 of WrestleMania and recently competed in the Women’s Money In The Bank match on July 18th in Fort Worth, Texas.

Following her move to SmackDown, there’s only one perfect way to book her. Align herself with ‘The Bloodline’ (Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, and her husband Jimmy Uso). Turning her heel and putting her into that faction could set up a possible feud with ‘The Street Profits and could even go one on one with SmackDown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair. Her move to SmackDown could set up an endless amount of great matches.
