Nevada Issues Mask Mandate Before SummerSlam
WWE’s SummerSlam pay-per-view event is set to take place on Saturday, Aug. 21 at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
Today, Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak announced that the state is bringing back its mask mandate, which will come into effect on Friday, July 30. No end date has been set, which means it could still be in place for SummerSlam. This news comes as the CDC advised that fully vaccinated American citizens should start wearing masks in indoor settings.
The mandate advises the wearing of masks within indoor spaces. The Allegiant Stadium is an indoor stadium, which essentially means that masks would be required, if the mandate still exists come Aug. 21.
Nevada is currently in hot spot in the USA, with the Delta Variant of Covid-19 currently circulating.
Could we see the WWE Universe covered in masks at SummerSlam?
It is very likely we will be seeing fans wearing masks at Allegiant Stadium come Aug. 21 for SummerSlam. The mandate that has come into effect has no end date as of yet, but with the Delta Variant much more transmissible, it could be a while before the removing of masks will be permitted.
As it stands, it is being reported that over 40,000 tickets have been sold for the event, that currently advises no restrictions will be in place. It is likely WWE may hold off adding any advisories for the event, until it gets closer to the time and it is confirmed that the mandate will still exist when the event airs.
