On September 10 at the Korakuen Hall (the Madison Square Garden of Japan), Michinoku Pro will celebrate The Great Sasuke’s 31 years in the pro-wrestling industry.

From being the founder of Michinoku Pro to make a big impression at NJPW’s Super J Cup 1st STAGE, to becoming the original holder of the J-Crown, to introducing Japanese-style wrestling to American pro-wrestling fans via ECW and WWE, to becoming the longest-reigning holder of the NWA World Middleweight Championship, The Great Sasuke has made a mark in the pro-wrestling industry that is respected internationally.

The main event will be a match that is a renewal of an old feud, as The Great Sasuke teams with Jinsei Shinzaki and Super Delfin in a match against Dick Togo, MENS Teioh, and Shiryu. In the 90’s, Togo, Teioh, and Shiryu were members of Kaientai ☆ DX,  Michinoku Pro’s first major rulebreaker faction, which feuded with The Great Sasuke and other fan favorites in the company.

In other action, the battle between the new generation and the established members of the roster continues as MUSASHI , Yasutaka Oosera, and Koji Kawamura go against  Rui Hyugaji, Yapperman #1, and Yapperman #2.

Rui Hyugaji is the longest-reigning Tohoku Junior Heavyweight Champion (553 days) of all time, and  Yapperman #1 & Yapperman #2  are the longest-reigning UWA World Tag Team Champions. Meanwhile, MUSASHI is the current Tohoku Junior Heavyweight Champion after recently defeating Hyugaji, and  Yasutaka Oosera & Koji Kawamura were on the losing end of a match against Yapperman #1 & Yapperman #2 at Michinoku Pro’s previous event at the Korauken Hall. So this match is sure to be heated and competitive.

Also, a Battle Royal will take place, featuring  GAINA, Brahman Shu, Brahman Kei, Manjimaru, Ken45, Rasse, Ayumu Gunji, Yasuyoshi Ogasawara, Pretty Ota, and others!

But before the action begins, Michinoku Pro will present  “THE GREAT SASUKE”, a 2016 documentary that takes a look at The Great Sasuke’s life in pro-wrestling and politics.

For those of you who will be in Japan on September 10, tickets are currently on sale for this event.
