WWE Extreme Rules 2021: Event card and information
Whenever a wrestling fan hears the “extreme” they should immediately think of the heyday of ECW. While that isn’t the case, WWE has co-opted the term for better, or for worse. Extreme Rules is the PPV that lives on as a direct descendant of ECW and the WWE Network special is once again coming around.
Extreme Rules has been an event that features a number of stipulation matches that build around the idea of “extreme” violence. Over the years these stipulations have included such ideas as tables matches, chair matches, to the odd Eye-for-an-Eye match of the Wyatt Swamp Fight, both from 2020.
The 2021 edition of WWE Extreme Rules is set for Sunday, September 21 from the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. The event will be available for viewing on via the WWE Network, streaming on the Peacock app.
This is the Extreme Rules card to date. As more matches are announced they will be added to this list:
- Becky Lynch versus Bianca Belair in a singles match for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship
- Damian Priest versus Sheamus in a singles match for the WWE United States Championship
- Charlotte Flair versus Alexa Bliss in a singles match for the WWE Raw Women’s Championship
- Roman Reigns with Paul Heyman versus “The Demon” Finn Balor in a singles match for the WWE Universal Championship, Extreme Rules match
