The Saudi General Entertainment Authority, along with WWE, has announced that WWE Crown Jewel will take place at the Mohammed Abdo Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The event will take place on Thursday, October 21, 2021, at 7 pm local time.

The venue was previously unknown until its official announcement this week. WWE has produced a show at the venue previously, with the Super ShowDown pay-per-view in February 2020 taking place there. This event was main-evented by Goldberg vs. The Fiend for the Universal Championship.

The venue itself will be able to seat around 20,000 fans. This number is down on the previous venues that WWE have used in the country previously.

Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship has already been announced for the event, with more matches expected to be announced soon.

The show continues WWE’s partnership with Saudi Arabia in support of the Saudi Vision 2030.

Crown Jewel reboots WWE’s partnership with Saudi Arabia

WWE will be finally making their return to the Middle East this month. Past trips aren’t without controversy and WWE will be hoping this time around things will run as smoothly as possible. The company treat these shows similar to WrestleMania and pull out all of their best stars to put on a great show for the local fans. An enormous amount of pyro is also used to add to the grandeur of the event.

It was very likely we will see Goldberg vs. Bobby Lashley added to the card, as Goldberg generally performs on the Saudi shows. There is also every chance that we will see the next and final instalment of the Edge and Seth Rollins in Saudi. There’s no doubt it’ll be a must-see event and one that will likely shape the remaining year to come for WWE, as Royal Rumble and WrestleMania approach.
