Also on tonight’s show, Edge will make his return to answer Seth Rollins’ challenge from last week, plus Bianca Belair will face Sasha Banks in a WrestleMania rematch.

WWE SmackDown Results – October 1st 2021 live from Baltimore

We start with a mini-video to declare that the WWE Draft starts now. Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville make their way to the stage to kick us off. Sonya announces the first pick for Friday Night SmackDown is Universal Champion Roman Reigns.

Pat McAfee was ecstatic about the pick on commentary! Raw’s first pick is WWE Champion, Big E. Both world champions remain where they are. SmackDown’s next pick is Raw Women’s Champion, Charlotte Flair. The final pick in the first round for Raw is Bianca Belair.

First-round picks
SmackDown: Universal Champion, Roman Reigns, Raw Women’s Champion, Charlotte Flair.
Raw: WWE Champion, Big E and Bianca Belair.

Universal Champion Roman Reigns then makes his way to the ring with Paul Heyman. We are shown a recap video of his match with The Demon this past Sunday at Extreme Rules. Roman starts off saying he’s number one.

Paul Heyman then discusses The Demon now being defeated, then looks ahead to Crown Jewel and Brock Lesnar. Heyman says Reigns will smash Brock Lesnar at Crown Jewel. Brock’s music then hits and he heads down to the ring. Roman and Brock go face-to-face as the WWE Universe chant ‘Suplex City!’.

Reigns then attacks Lesnar, but Brock immediately responds with two suplexes. The Usos then try and get involved and one of them gets suplexed. Reigns retreats and Brock invites him back into the ring. Reigns teases getting in the ring but ultimately doesn’t. Lesnar then picks up the Uso’s and gives them an F5 individually.

Backstage, Kayla Braxton is with the newest member of SmackDown, the Raw Women’s Champion, Charlotte Flair. Flair wanted to be thanked for being the first women drafted in the roster this year, and ends with her ‘long live the queen’ catchphrase.

Kevin Owens vs. Happy Corbin w/ Madcap Moss

A video is shown during Corbin’s entrance introducing Madcap Moss, the former Riddick Moss. They both share a joke and laugh. Before the commercial, Madcap Moss took out Owens on the apron to allow Corbin to take control. Late in the match, Corbin delivers an End of Days to Owens on the outside and then delivers one in the ring to pick up the victory. Corbin and Moss both laugh at Owens after the match.

Winner: Happy Corbin w/ Madcap Moss

A video recap is shown from the SmackDown Women’s Championship match between Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair with Sasha Banks returning to interfere at Extreme Rules. Bianca Belair vs. Sasha Banks will main event tonight.

A video package is shown to announce the King of the Ring and first-ever Queen’s Crown Tournaments will take place next week on the season premiere of SmackDown.

The next round of the WWE Draft with Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville. Drew McIntyre is picked for SmackDown. Raw selects the Raw Tag Team Champion, Randy Orton and Riddle. SmackDown picks Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, splitting them away from Big E, again. Raw selects Edge as their final pick of this round.

Second-round picks
SmackDown: Drew McIntyre and Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods.
Raw: Raw Tag Team Champion, Randy Orton & Riddle and Edge.

Backstage, Kayla Braxton speaks with Drew McIntyre. McIntyre talks about his history on SmackDown and says he has unfinished business. Drew explains he’s coming for the Universal Championship.

Edge then makes his entrance to answer Seth Rollins’ challenge from last week. Edge lets us know that he was the only roster member left who was on the first-ever episode of SmackDown. Edge says Rollins knows what kind of man he is and knew he would show up. Edge demands Rollins come out.

Rollins appears on the Titantron laughing and saying he is impressed that Edge turned up. Rollins says Edge is a liar and he is an honest man. Seth says he is not at SmackDown this week and he is outside Edge’s home.

The front door is surprisingly unlocked as Seth shouts for Beth Phoenix, Edge’s wife. Rollins gets himself comfortable, raids Edge’s fridge, and eats an apple. Seth continues to tour around the house and gets himself even more comfortable. Edge is then shown on the phone to warn Beth not to go home.

Carmella vs. Liv Morgan

We’ve got ourselves an Extreme Rules pre-show rematch. Liv is extremely popular with the WWE Universe right now. Liv punched Carmella and Carmella escaped the ring. Carmella calls Liv a ‘b***h’ on the microphone, and then has a mask put on to protect her face.  Carmella then got it in the ring and dropped Liv Morgan and then Carmella’s music hit. That was it? We didn’t even get the finish of the match?

Winner: No Contest(?)

The next round of the WWE Draft with Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville. SmackDown selects Happy Corbin with Madcap Moss. Raw selects the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, Rhea Ripley and Nikki A.S.H. SmackDown selects the Hit Row group from NXT 2.0. The final pick in this round for Raw is Keith ‘Bearcat’ Lee.

Third-round picks
SmackDown: Happy Corbin w/ Madcap Moss and Hit Row
Raw: WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, Rhea Ripley & Nikki A.S.H. and Keith ‘Bearcat’ Lee

The Street Profits and Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods vs. Dolph Ziggler, Robert Roode, Chad Gable and Otis

Late in the match, the action exploded into chaos on the outside of the ring. Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston hit a backbreaker/double stomp combo and Woods then pins Robert Roode. An entertaining match that had everyone involved.

Winners: Xavier Woods, Kofi Kingston and The Street Profits

It’s time for the fourth round of the WWE Draft. Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville announce again. SmackDown selects Naomi and will no doubt continue her feud with Sonya. Pearce announces Raw selects Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio. SmackDown selects Jeff Hardy as their next pick. The final pick on night one of the WWE Draft for Raw is Austin Theory from NXT 2.0.

Fourth-round picks
SmackDown: Naomi and Jeff Hardy
Raw: Rey & Dominik Mysterio and Austin Theory

Backstage, Kayla Braxton goes to interview an excited Jeff Hardy as Brock Lesnar walks in and takes the mic from Kayla. Brock has a public announcement to share: Thanks to his good friend Paul Heyman, Lesnar is now a free agent. Lesnar says Brock Lesnar gets to do whatever he wants to do.

Backstage, we then cross to The Bloodline’s locker room as Roman Reigns questions Paul Heyman again about his relationship with Brock Lesnar. Reigns asks Heyman if his cousins have their places confirmed on SmackDown. Heyman says it will be sorted on Raw. Reigns then shouts at Heyman that he’s the wise man when Roman Reigns tells him he’s the wise man.

Heyman is emotional. Reigns tells Heyman to go to Raw and make sure that The Usos are drafted to SmackDown. Heyman leaves. Reigns tells The Uso’s that they will go to Raw to and make sure they’re drafted to SmackDown. Reigns says if they aren’t drafted to SmackDown, then to leave Paul Heyman for dead.

Bianca Belair vs. Sasha Banks

It’s time for the WrestleMania 37 Night One main event rematch. Before the match begins, the SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch makes her way out. She joins Michael Cole and Pat McAfee commentary.

As expected, an exceptional match between two of the best in the WWE women’s division. Becky and Bianca exchanged words outside of the ring late in the match. When Bianca tried returning to the ring, Becky held Bianca’s hair to stop her going further and then Sasha rolled up Bianca for the win.

Winner: Bianca Belair

After the match, SmackDown’s newest superstar and Raw Women’s Champion, Charlotte Flair, came out and took out Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair in the ring. Charlotte held up her championship in the ring, and Becky held her championship up next to the announce desk.

Next. Angelo Dawkins is confident about Street Profits’ future ahead of the 2021 WWE Draft. dark
