The women’s division stood front and center on Saturday for Impact’s feature event, Knockouts Knockdown. There were a lot of major moments across the showcase, but there was also big news revealed as the IInspiration are heading over to Impact.

Formerly known as the IIconics in WWE, Jessie McKay, and Cassie Lee (Billie Kay and Peyton Royce) respectively were revealed via a graphic during the Impact Plus event. The nature of their involvement was not announced, but wrestling fans have wondered where the two women would show up.

McKay and Lee were among the many wrestlers released by the WWE during the COVID-19 global pandemic. They joined the promotion in 2015, working their way up from NXT to the main roster in 2018. They would become the WWE Women’s Tag Team champions, picking up the belts with a victory at WrestleMania 35 in 2019. Their reign would run for 120 days before dropping the titles to Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross.

Unfortunately, WWE made the decision to split up the IIconics, just as the promotion tends to do with many of their tag teams. Lee was in place for a singles push, while McKay was carving out her space as a backstage talent. Lee’s last match was a defeat at the hands of Asuka on Monday Night Raw in March, while McKay was last involved in women’s tag team contendership match in April. Both women were released in April of this year.
