WWE SmackDown results Oct 15: Supersize SmackDown!
WWE SmackDown results. This week sees SmackDown go supersize! WWE has added an extra commercial-free 30 minutes as the show airs on FS1 in the USA.
Brock Lesnar will be appearing live, SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch faces Sasha Banks in a non-title match, Carmella faces Zelina Vega in the semi-final of the Queens Crown Tournament, Finn Balor squares off against Sami Zayn in the semi-final of the King of the Ring tournament, Naomi finally gets her hands on Sonya Deville and The Usos face The Street Profits with the SmackDown Tag Team Titles on the line. The show is stacked!
WWE SmackDown results from October 15 live from Ontario, California
SmackDown starts with a new video opening. It is also announced that Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar will have a Universal Championship contract signing for Crown Jewel. There’s been a lot of contract signings in WWE recently.
Edge’s music hits and we kick off with “The Rated R Superstar”. Edge faces Seth Rollins inside Hell in a Cell at Crown Jewel next week. Edge gets a steel chair and sits in the middle of the ring with a spotlight shining on him. Edge runs through the history of his feud with Seth Rollins.
Rollins is shown grinning while watching the promo on a monitor backstage. Edge admits that Rollins isn’t Edge-lite but he’s Seth freakin’ Rollins. Edge says he has to end this. “The Rated R Superstar” says he’s going to change the look in Rollins’ eyes moving forward.
He says that it’s fitting that their trilogy and story ends inside Hell in a Cell. Edge says he is going to scar Seth Rollins’ soul and that it is a scar that he will never ever heal from. The former WWE Champion was focused and passionate throughout the promo and it’s added more intensity ahead of the match at Crown Jewel next week.
Finn Balor vs. Sami Zayn – King of the Ring semi-final match
A promo from Finn Balor is shown recorded earlier airs as he makes his entrance. The winner of the match will advance to the King of the Ring final at Crown Jewel next week. A promo from Sami also airs as he makes his entrance.
As it stands, Sami Zayn isn’t considered for Saudi events due to his Syrian heritage, so it’s likely Finn Balor will win this one. Late in the match, Sami tried to use the ropes as leverage to pin Balor, but referee Jessika Carr spots it in time. In the end, Balor delivers a Coup de Grace to win the match to advance to the final. A great match between two of SmackDown’s best.

A video package airs promoting the arrival of Drew McIntyre to SmackDown from Raw next week. A video then airs hyping up the Roman Reigns-Brock Lesnar Universal Championship match at Crown Jewel, highlighting Paul Heyman’s role.
Naomi vs. Sonya Deville & Shayna Baszler
This marks Sonya Deville’s first match since last year’s SummerSlam. An interview airs with Naomi as she makes her entrance, and she’s excited for the match. Sonya Deville comes out to the stage wearing her suit.
Sonya decides to change the match to a handicap match, with Shayna Baszler as Sonya’s partner. Sonya slaps Naomi as the match gets underway as Naomi chases after her. Sonya and Shayna beat down Naomi. The former SmackDown Women’s Champion manages to fight back but Baszler makes her pass out to the Kirifuda Clutch, then Sonya puts her foot on top of Naomi as the referee counts the 1,2,3.
Winners: Sonya Deville & Shayna Baszler
A video package airs hyping up the arrival of Hit Row to SmackDown next week.
Seth Rollins music hits and the Drip God makes his way to the ring.
We have a promo from Sasha Banks backstage before we cross to the ring. Banks says she’s in a whole new zone and reminds everyone that she is The Boss.
Back in the ring, Rollins laughs and questions Edge’s chances against him at Crown Jewel. Rollins says he is not intimidated by facing “The Rated R Superstar” inside Hell in a Cell. Rollins is happy that Edge finally admitted that he is not Edge-lite.
Rollins reiterates that he is better than Edge in every single possible way. He once again states he is not afraid or intimidated to face Edge inside Hell in a Cell at Crown Jewel. The WWE Universe begins to chant for Edge to appear.
Rollins reminds everyone about his matches inside Hell in a Cell and says that he is already scarred. He says he is the man he is today because of the Cell. Rollins ends the promo saying he is revolutionary and he is Seth freakin’ Rollins.
Backstage, Zelina Vega and Carmella are talking, as Zelina builds up Carmella and says she wants to face the best. Zelina says they should go out there and have a fair, clean match and not to worry about the mask.
Carmella vs. Zelina Vega – Queen’s Crown Tournament semi-final match
Towards the end of the match, Liv Morgan appears at ringside holding Carmella’s face mask, which distracts her. She runs back into the ring as Liv goes to punch her, but Zelina rolls her up to pick up the win.
Zelina Vega advances to the finals of the Queen’s Crown Tournament next week at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia. On a side note, as per last week’s Queens Crown matches, they once again got just under three minutes.

A video hyping Sheamus’ return to SmackDown next week from Raw is shown.
The jackpot music hits and Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss make their way to the ring. Happy Talk returns! The pair start by saying some different jokes which the WWE Universe boo. Rick Boogs then appears on the stage and introduces Shinsuke Nakamura and they rock around ringside, and of course, with Pat McAfee.
As Nakamura and Boogs make their way back up the ramp, The Street Profits make their entrance with Boogs playing their entrance theme on his guitar. SmackDown Tag Team Titles are on the line next in a Street Fight. What was the point of Happy Talk tonight!?
The Usos vs. The Street Profits – SmackDown Tag Team Championship – Street Fight
The match immediately starts with all four men brawling on the outside of the ring. A number of weapons come into play, such as kendo sticks and tables. The match is being played out at a fast pace and the WWE Universe are on their feet throughout most of it.
Late in the match, The Usos deliver a double superkick and a double Uso splash to pin Angelo Dawkins to retain their SmackDown Tag Team Titles. A great match that stole the show on SmackDown tonight. Incredible action.
Winners: The Usos to retain the SmackDown Tag Team Championship
Backstage, SmackDown Women’s Champion, Becky Lynch, is interviewed. Lynch talks about greatness and her accolades in WWE. Lynch heads to the ring as she faces Sasha Banks next in a Championship Contender’s match – as per Michael Cole. It is also announced that Charlotte Flair will defend the Raw Women’s Championship on Monday night against Bianca Belair.
The remainder of SmackDown is now commercial-free.
Becky Lynch vs. Sasha Banks – Championship Contender’s Match
Bianca Belair makes her way to ringside to take a closer look at the action. Both Lynch and Banks delivered in what was a main-event calibre match. In the end, Belair got involved to distract Becky Lynch which allowed Sasha Banks to pick up the victory, surprising the champion. All three women will collide next Thursday at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia with the SmackDown Women’s Championship on the line.
Winner: Sasha Banks
After the match, Adam Pearce instructs the ringside crew to put together the contract signing set-up immediately. Universal Champion Roman Reigns, with Paul Heyman, enters first. Brock Lesnar’s music then blasts throughout the Toyota Arena as he heads to the ring in good spirits.
Roman stares at Lesnar and doesn’t take his eyes off him. Lesnar then takes a seat and puts his feet up on the contract signing table. Paul Heyman then opens the contract for Reigns to sign advising he looked over all the details. Roman signs the contract.
Lesnar just smiles and laughs and then signs the contract. Roman questions why he didn’t look over the contract and just signed it. Brock says that he already looked over the contract with his advocate Paul Heyman this morning! It looks as though Heyman will play a huge role in the Universal Championship match next Thursday.
