All Elite Wrestling is riding a wave of momentum. As it heads into Full Gear in November there’s a lot of speculation around what’s planned around the top of the card. Kenny Omega is killing it as the promotion’s top champion, and it looks like Adam Page is the top contender next in line. But even outside of Page, here are some ideas around who could be next to hold the title in the future.

5. Adam Page

Hang Adam Page is beloved by AEW crowds because he is one of the most relatable characters in professional wrestling today. Despite being a cowboy, Adam Page drinks a little too much, and at times can question his confidence because of him not being able to achieve the one things he’s been trying to accomplish since the beginning of AEW in 2019, and that’s become the AEW world champion.

AEW has become a great wrestling company in storytelling, and the Hangman Adam Page and Kenny Omega storyline is one of the best. AEW needs to pull the trigger on him sooner rather than later. The crowd reaction when Hangman Adam Page finally wins the AEW World title will be a reaction that we haven’t seen from a rival company since WCW.

4. Bryan Danielson

The American Dragon and Kenny Omega put on quite a show at AEW’s special Grand Slam episode of Dynamite, wrestling a five-star match to a 30-minute time limit draw. AEW should continue this feud and let it end with both men being in a 60-minute iron match for the world title.

Bryan Danielson being the one to takedown Omega would be a huge moment, but that would come with people looking at AEW funny for having an ex-WWE guy come over and beat their top guy for the most crucial title in the company. Bryan Danielson will be AEW world champion before he retires, but it shouldn’t be anytime soon.

3. MJF

MJF is the only true heel in professional wrestling today because he lives his life in and out of the ring as the character we see him play on television. MJF has been with AEW since the beginning and should be treated as a top star in the company. MJF should be the one to beat Hangman Adam Page when Page finally wins the world title. It would be wise for AEW to have its top heel defeat its top babyface. MJF as world champion is something that AEW has to do because it would be money to see which babyface would finally defeat him.

2. Miro

Adam Page deserves a nice run at the top of AEW, but it should end at the hands of a monster heel. The heels that should beat Hangman Adam’s page should be between MJF and Miro because the fans need somebody to hate for beating their hero. When Miro defeated Darby Allin for the TNT championship, he went on an amazing run as TNT champion that many fans believe ended too soon because of how dominant the reign was. Miro has proved that he can be the monster heel that fans wanted him to be in AEW and that he has the talent to wrestle against anyone in AEW. If he’s truly God’s favorite champion, then an AEW World title reign would help make him one of the most dominant champions in AEW’s short history.

1. CM Punk

When CM Punk returned to professional wrestling in August, he made it clear that he had returned to pro wrestling and was in AEW to compete. When it comes to CM Punk, he has made it clear that he wants to help out the younger wrestlers before going after any of AEW’s top stars, but AEW would be foolish not to consider giving CM Punk a world title run. The thing that makes Punk unique is that he is All in on being a full-time wrestler for AEW and has appeared every week since returning, which is an excellent sign that AEW won’t use him like how WWE uses their legends.

CM Punk being a world champion is something that wrestling fans worldwide would like to see because of his story and why he left professional wrestling. AEW should consider pulling the trigger on CM Punk winning the title within the next two years because that would give him enough time to remove any ring rust and get a couple of good wins under his belt before becoming world champion.

AEW has a roster full of some of the best talent in the world. These are just five names that could eventually become champion, but there’s plenty more on the list such as Ethan Page and Scorpio Sky as well. AEW has all the riches needed to give wrestling fans what they want.
