Bound for Glory season has come once again, and this year Bound For Glory is shaping up to be one of the best ones we have seen in years. For the 17th edition, Impact Wrestling has decided to feature wrestlers from Impact’s partner promotions such as AEW, AAA, and NJPW. Bound for Glory is still the most iconic pay-per-view in TNA/Impact History because of the legendary matches and surprises. In this article, I will be discussing the five greatest matches in TNA/Impact Wrestling Bound For Glory History.

5. TNA Bound For Glory (2005) Monster’s Ball Match

Abyss w/ Father James Mitchell vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Rhino vs. Sabu

For the first PPV of the Spike TV era, TNA decided to go back to one of its most famous matches, the Monster’s Ball, a no disqualification match with weapons allowed and the fall to a finish. When TNA first introduced the Monster’s Ball match, the announce team made sure to let fans know that each wrestler in the match was locked away for twenty-four hours before the match, which made the match more intense.

The four wrestlers in this match were perfect because they were known for weapons, high spots, and brawls in their matches. Jeff would hit a Swanton Bomb off the stage on Abyss, which would become a highlight for TNA/Impact wrestling when they show the History of the Monster’s ball match. The matchwinner would be Rhino, who would Gore Abyss through a table and five Hardy a middle rope Piledriver to claim victory and get a shot at the NWA World title at the end of the night.

4. TNA Bound For Glory (2005) Iron Man Match | X-Division Championship

When it comes to TNA Wrestling, many people bring up the company’s mistakes. Still, in this article, it’s about giving them the respect they deserve for providing wrestlers like AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels a bigger platform to wrestle on. At Bound for Glory 2005, the two legendary Impact Wrestlers delivered a classic thirty-minute Iron man match. When it comes to the X Division, Styles and Daniels put the division on the map because of the matches that they gave the fans.

At Against All Odds 2005, Styles defeated Daniels 2-1 in overtime, and this match went one step further, with each man not getting the first fall until the final seconds of the match. This match can be in the conversation for the greatest TNA matches of all time based on the psychology in this match. The fans were able to tell that both wrestlers gave their all in this match, but in the end, it was AJ Styles who was able to get the victor

3. Kurt Angle Vs. Sting (Bound For Glory 2007)

TNA Wrestling wasn’t playing around for BFG 2017 when they decided to put Kurt Angle and Sting against each other in the main event. This was a wrestling dream match that fans were getting, and both wrestlers put on an amazing match. Despite all of the interference and ref bumps, the two legends were able to get in the ring and tell an amazing story to their fans. Sting would win in this match after taking out Kevin Nash and using the Scorpion Death Drop on Angle.

2. AJ Styles Vs. Sting (Bound For Glory 2009)

TNA made Sting their top guy when he came to the company, which allowed him to be the top babyface for them for years. Sting main event every Bound For Glory event between 2006 and 2009, which was a good run. In 2009 Sting would face TNA homegrown star AJ Styles in a fantastic match that showed two wrestlers masters at ring psychology and storytelling. AJ Styles was the perfect person to break Sting’s streak of winning matches at Bound For Glory because it was WCW homegrown mega star versus TNA homegrown megastar.

1. LAX VS AJ Styles And Christopher Daniels – BFG 2006

The greatest TNA Bound For Glory match can also be in the conversation as one of the greatest tag team matches in the last 20 years. This match was fought inside the Six Sides of Steel and was nothing short of greatness. These two teams had already met twice before on Pay Per View, including an Ultimate X match that is also a must-watch. The Six Sides of Steel was the perfect match to end this rivalry because both teams wanted to prove that they were the best tag team on the planet.

TNA wrestling from the beginning made sure that wrestling fans knew that tag team wrestling mattered in their company. This match featured the perfect combination of brawling and high-flying fast pace spots. In the end, LAX would get the win when AJ Styles would take a Gringo Killa ending the match.
