Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch have reported heated confrontation backstage at WWE SmackDown
Following the conclusion of WWE SmackDown on Friday October 22 from Wichita, Kansas, Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch reportedly had a confrontation backstage, according to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.
The pair appeared in the main event segment, trading their RAW and SmackDown Women’s Titles. The occasion became awkward when Charlotte threw her RAW Women’s Title on the floor, and Becky throwing her SmackDown Women’s Title at Charlotte, as Sonya Deville tried to mediate. These actions were not the reported plan.
It has been suggested that Charlotte Flair voiced her concerns prior to the segment claiming that she did not want to look weak by just swapping the titles. The WWE Universe also voiced their concerns with the whole thing by voicing their displeasure at WWE creative for not coming up with a better plan for the Women’s Titles, which had been traded from their rightful shows during the 2021 WWE Draft.
Once the segment was concluded, Becky and Charlotte became heated and exchanged ‘loud words’ but did not become physical.
Trouble inside the WWE camp?
It is certainly not a great look when two of your best stars are having confrontations backstage over a particular segment. It shows the displeasure that the women feel towards the creative they have been provided, and what could have been something much more. WWE decided to take the easy route and have the two superstars hand over their Women’s Titles instead of actually turning into something to get everyone off their seats.
Hopefully Charlotte and Becky can resolve their differences, because of course, it isn’t entirely their fault. They’re told how things are going to plan out and to go out and to follow the script. As mentioned previously, it could have been handled so much better but instead we got a weak ending to SmackDown, that could have been avoided.
