WWE SmackDown Results October 29, 2021

SmackDown opens with their brand new video intro with AC/DC’s “Are You Ready?”

SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair makes her entrance to kick off the show. Charlotte puts herself over about being the face of the WWE and that nobody compares to her. She says winning a title “is just another Friday” as she winks at the camera.

Sasha Banks interrupts midway through Flair’s promo. Sasha says Charlotte is not a leader and holds the rest of the locker room down. Sasha wants a shot at the SmackDown Women’s Title but Charlotte says someone new deserves an opportunity. Shotzi then makes her way out in her tank. Shotzi accepts Charlotte’s offer as the fans chant for Shotzi. Charlotte says Shotzi will get her match right now.

Charlotte Flair vs. Shotzi in a Championship Contender’s match

A very competitive match that really made Shotzi look like a strong contender on the SmackDown roster. Shotzi got a lot of time to show off her ability and even managed a number of near falls almost upsetting the champion. Charlotte picked up the victory using her Natural Selection move after Sasha Banks got on the apron distracting both competitors. Shotzi took Charlotte to the limit there. A really great showing from both.

Winner: SmackDown Women’s Champion, Charlotte Flair

After the match, an angry Shotzi blamed Sasha Banks for the defeat and attacks “The Boss”, turning her heel. The beat down lasted for a few minutes, with Shotzi even throwing Banks into her tank outside of the ring. Shotzi howls to end the beating as the fans boo. What a moment for Shotzi, making a real impact tonight.

Backstage, Kayla Braxton interviews Jeff Hardy. Hardy is looking forward to a fresh start. Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss interrupt and make some unfunny jokes that Corbin and Moss hysterically laugh at. Hardy says it’s good to be back on the blue brand.

A recap is shown of Brock Lesnar’s rampage and suspension from last week on SmackDown. WWE Official Adam Pearce appears on a video from his home, as Paul Heyman is shown watching on a screen backstage.

Adam Pearce called Brock Lesnar earlier today and confirmed that he has fined Lesnar $1 million. Heyman is shown again, as Kayla Braxton approaches him to take about the monumental fine, asking how Lesnar would respond to the fine.

Heyman says Brock would turn up at the WWE offices and cause havoc. Heyman starts getting passionate about Brock and then calms himself down. Paul says he hasn’t spoken to Brock and wants Kayla to leave him alone.

Drew McIntyre then makes his entrance, as he issues an open challenge. McIntyre gets on the mic and says he is ready to kick someone’s a**. Drew issues the open challenge and Mustafa Ali accepts. Ali says Drew is big and bad, but he’s better.

Drew McIntyre vs. Mustafa Ali

A quick match, with Drew using the Kimora Lock to defeat Mustafa Ali. A new move for Drew as he will no doubt be one of SmackDown’s top babyfaces for the foreseeable future. The quick win made Drew look stronger than ever, also showing off his strength.

Winner: Drew McIntyre

After the match, Mustafa Ali wants to get something off his chest. He questions the WWE Universe’s cheering for Drew and booing of him. He says the only reason they choose to boo him is because his name is Mustafa Ali.

A recap is shown of Xavier Woods’ King of the Ring coronation from last week. Backstage, Woods and Kofi Kingston are walking through the backstage area. They bump into Hit Row and Woods gives praise to them. Hit Row bow to Xavier and say they are not worthy. Kofi Kingston asks for Hit Row to sing out a tune for King Woods.

King Woods and Kofi Kingston make their way to the ring as Kofi Kingston is due to be knighted. Kofi got the WWE Universe to chant “hail King Woods!” Woods knights Kofi in the ring, and dubs him “Sir Kofi Kingston” as the WWE Universe now begin to chant “Sir Kofi!”

The fans are in fine voice for this segment. The SmackDown Tag Team Champions, The Usos, then come down to the ring. The Usos tell Woods & Kofi that a lot has changed since they have been away from SmackDown and it is now the Bloodline show. King Woods challenges The Usos to a trial of combat. The Usos accept. They begin to brawl before The Usos escape. Looks like a renewed rivalry tonight between The New Day and The Usos.

A recap of the new era of Monday Night Raw is shown from this past week, with Seth Rollins earning himself a shot at the Universal Title winning a Fatal 4-Way Ladder Match.

Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura & Rick Boogs vs. Happy Corbin & Madcap Moss in a Trick or Street Fight

The ring is surrounded by Halloween gimmicks such as pumpkins, skeletons and much more. Midway through the match, 24/7 Champion, Reggie, runs into the ring being chased by a slew of WWE superstars. He manages to escape.

All the gimmicks come into play, even some kendo sticks. Near the end of the match, two people disguised as ghouls hit Rick Boogs with kendo sticks, costing his team the match. They reveal themselves to be Humberto Carrillo and Angel Garza. A fun match overall.

As you’d expect, a solid match between two of the best tag teams of all time. King Woods rolls up Jimmy Uso to secure a win over the SmackDown Tag Team Champions. King Woods puts on his crown in the middle of the ring after the match. It looks we’re going to see another match between these two somewhere down the line with the gold on the line.
