Today (Thursday, November 4, 2021), WWE has released a handful of talent from their contracts. Superstars released are from the main roster and from NXT.

It was reported earlier this morning by WrestleVotes that releases were on the horizon today, and it appears the talent involved in having their contracts terminated have been informed by the company.

According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, the releases were due to “budget cuts” as per an email sent by John Laurinaitis.

The list of releases, so far, as of 19:30 EST:

  • Eva Marie
  • Keith Lee
  • Karrion Kross
  • Nia Jax
  • Gran Metalik
  • Lince Dorado
  • B-Fab
  • Mia Yim
  • Ember Moon
  • Franky Monet
  • Scarlett Bordeaux
  • Harry Smith
  • Oney Lorcan
  • Trey Baxter
  • Jeet Rama
  • Katrina Cortez
  • Zayda Ramier
  • Jessi Kamea

It is not yet known if more names are due to be released today, but it is noticeable that WWE.com hasn’t reported on any of the releases, only those in the wrestling media.

The WWE has been undergoing a lot of changes behind-the-scenes and on-screen in the last year or so due to the Covid-19 pandemic and also due to the new direction set in motion by WWE President Nick Khan.

More WWE releases mark another sad day.

As a fan of WWE, these are the days that you don’t like being a fan. Seeing a number of talented wrestlers, talented human beings, losing their jobs is never fun. Of course, there are a lot of surprising names on the list, including main roster stars who have been performing regularly for the company. It begs the question as to why these names, in particular, were let go.

Only those at the top of WWE will know the answer. For example, why would they promote B-Fab to the main roster along with Hit Row just a couple of weeks ago, if there were plans in place to release the star? Surely, these decisions aren’t made last minute from a major global company. For now, here’s hoping more cuts are not on the way.
